Rooms adequate but very tired looking and bathroom badly in need of a good clean.
Hotel seems to attract stag and hen parties so steer clear of it on Friday and Saturday nights unless you've got ear plugs.

Upon our arrival in Cardiff we finally found the hotel after driving round in circles, due to the fact the hotel isn’t signposted.
We entered the lodge where we waited to check-in. The check-in procedure seemed to take forever, I was amazed by this as with my job I stay in many hotels and have never waited such a long time to get a key.
We finally received the key to room 17.
When we got in the room the first things I noticed were the dead/squatted flies on the ceiling, the dust under the bed and the dripping broken gutter outside (SEE PHOTOS).
Pictures show evidence of dead/squatted flies no the ceiling. I realise that flies are an issue in this climate for the time of year, but surely the fact that the dead insects remain on the ceiling is unacceptable and disgusting. I would expect this to be cleaned off prior to any new arrivals.
Other pictures show clear evidence of dust under the bed which clearly hasn’t seen a vacuum cleaner in a long time. This again proves how filthy these rooms are.
A broken gutter. This continued to drip with water for the duration of my stay. Due to this I found it difficult to sleep as the noise being made was exceptionally loud. I was annoyed at this as needed sleep as had a 4 hour journey home the next day.
I realise that the room booked was budget price, but regardless of the cost the rooms should still be to a high standard of cleanliness, which they clearly were not.
In the past I have never stayed in such a grotty hotel. I have stayed in Premier Travel Inn’s throughout the country and for a similar price to Travelodge the standard there is far higher than that of the Travelodge I stayed in at Cardiff Llanedeyrn. It makes me wonder what the standard is of the other Travelodge’s throughout the country.
Upon checking out of the hotel we required some travel direction information. The check-in desk was empty, we proceeded to press the call bell several times, no-one appeared to assist us. Finally a cleaner was walking past and gave us the information we required. My question is why was a reception desk unmanned at 12 midday when this is the check-out time for all visitors?
Overall my stay at this hotel was appalling, however seeing Madonna in concert was the only good thing to come out of my trip to Wales!!

Business service (e.g., internet access)I stayed at this hotel in December 2005. As with most travelodges I expected it to be of a similar standard but it was much more basic than that.
There is a car park there but this is not big enough. When the hotel was full and if you arrive after about 6.30pm you may not be able to get a space.
The rooms were basic, clean but in need of decoration. The bathroom appeared to be needing a thorough clean as well. Although there were 3 of us on both days they only left 2 sets of towels meaning having to go down to reception to get these. As there was only one person on there most of the time it took quite a while on some occasions.
Breakfast was available, but as there was no dining room or bar area in the hotel it was delivered to your room. It cost £4 per person and for this you received corn flakes, a banana, a croisant and fresh orange juice. However on the 2nd day they had ran out of bananans so there was no fruit available. You could not have any variation on this.
On the plus point there was a nice Harvester bar / restaurant next door so you could get a meal there.
The final thing is there was a tv in the room but the only channels were 1 to 5 no satellite channels. As it is in Wales the channels were the welsh versions, so BBC2, ITV and Channel 4 had totally different schedules so unless you speak welsh, take some books or a portable DVD player, especially if you have children.
If you get a good deal on the hotel and your not bothered about facilities, it's fine. However it may be worth paying more to get better accomodation where you can park your car.

Not a BAD hotel, but terribly overpriced at the standard rates. Rooms were somewhat clean, but could be better. Located way out of town in a residential area. At least there's a nice family Harvester restaurant right next door; nothing else is within walking distance.
