Stayed at Manor Parc for two nights during the Caerphilly Big Cheese festival. Its location is very good: easily accessible from the M4 and only a short drive from Cardiff and Caerphilly. The rooms are clean, with a charming post-war ambience. The service is very warm and friendly. Not a lot of facilities, although is has lovely gardens and a tennis court.

Heading north out of Cardiff towards Caerphilly, the Manor Park Hotel has a perfect spot on the hillside overlooking Cardiff Bay. My first impression was that the gardens were lovely and well tended. There was also plenty of car parking, and even a tennis court. We found the patio area at the back of the property a pleasant place to sit and have a leisurely drink on what was a very hot weekend. I must give a special mention to the staff at the hotel. We were given a very friendly welcome when we arrived for a special family event, and without exception everyone we met was professional, warm and friendly. The food was pretty good too, and they made a valiant effort for the vegetarians in our group. All in all a good find.

Staff were friendly and helpful but really the hotel was a little bit poor. For this sort of price I would have expected smarter bedding, a better bathroom etc. Not so much a bad hotel as a bit sloppy on the details. They knocked a bit off my bill because of porblems with the shower but 95 pounds for this would have been very poor value for money.

Good hotel and excellent value for money. Room was very clean and the staff were kind and friendly. Asked about local pub/ restaruants, one member of staff even took the trouble to book us ia table and a cab.
Can highly recommend a stay here for your visit to Cardiff.
