I think the people who wrote the below reviews need to get things in perspective a little bit, this is a travellodge not a 5 star hotel and as such you should expect what you pay for!

Me and my girlfriend had a double room for one night because I was going to see a gig in the city, we paid £20 for the night which was great for just a quick simple one night stay, the room wasnt brilliant but for 20 quid what do you expect! fact is it wasnt dirty the tv worked the double bed was actully very comfy, we had no problems with noise at all although for the people complaining about this they do actully warn you of the hotels location on the website and in the lobbey of the hotel itself so you cant really say you didnt know.
bascially we had a good stay didnt get a 5* room but for £20 wasnt expecting a 5* room! the hotel was comfy enough suited our needs and we had no complaints!

I think some people on this website have had to much pampering at the ritz etc and seem to expect 5* facilites at a discount price....not gonna happen...wake up! :)

Just recently stayed in this miserable excuse for a hotel for the Wales Vs Ireland match in the millenium stadium. It was a bad sign when we arrived on friday morning and the staff were all wearing jackets and scarfs behind the counter, the automatic doors into the hotel didnt even work, nor did the lift. One miserable bar of soap in the bathroom, no phone, and the worst breakfast you are ever likely to encounter (we all paid extra to book the breakfast ahead, but upon viewing the sorry sight, we all went elsewhere). Oh and did i mention there is a nightclub below??

Next time i'll just pay the extra 30 quid and book the hilton.

this travelodge is in a great location, bang in the middle of Cardiff.
we stayed on a wednesday and thursdat night and the room was on the first floor.
the noise on wednesday night was fine, but thursday night is student night in the bar below and the noise was really noisy luckily I had ear pllugs and im a heavy sleeper.
The travelodge is having a revamp. Our room was in need of one as the radiator was missing in the bedroom and the one in bathroom was disconnected. the room was clean.

the down side was we arrived at midday and the travelodge hasnt got anywhere to leave luggage so we spent 3 hrs walking around with it. we found out on our second day you can leave luggage in the library for a small fee.
It wouldnt have been too hard for the receptionist to pass this info on when we arrived.

as we only paid £40 per night we were happy with the hotel but we wouldnt spend any more. next time we visit Cardiff we will look for other accomadaion, but if we cant find any we would be happy staying in the travelodge if the price is right.

This hotel was booked for us as my husband was attending a meeting at the Unison HQ. They had booked us into the Travelodge as all the rooms were fully booked in the nearby Marriott.

On arrival we did worry about being over the many bars and restaurants, even though we knew we would probably end up in them, but fell lucky with a room at the rear of the hotel which was lovely and quiet.

The room was clean and tidy and was comfortable and very reasonable for the money which included a buffet style breakfast of cereals, toast, and a ful english if you wanted it.
