It was an amazing stay! I got the price, by accident for 47pounds on a Sunday night, for my birthday. The location is right next to the shopping district and Cardiff by itself is really small so no problems at all.

The reception staff were so helpful especially Dan who gave us directions on what to do and where to eat and avoid going in Cardiff. The room was clean and exactly as advertised although the walls were thin . . . .

Beware of their overbookoing policy which appears to be routine especially at weekends. The alternative that is offered is the Holiday Inn Express at Cardiff airport 12 miles away which just about sums up the managements belief of what equates with their own fading glory.

We managed to get 2 nights at this hotel on the Thistle auction site. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Yes the wallpaper is coming off the walls in places, but you can see past this with the great location. It is situated off the main shopping street and about a 10 minute walk from the millenium stadium.

We stayed when Wales where playing Australia and considering how many people where out and about the room was nice and quiet.

The only negatives where that the service in the restaurant in the evening was slow, and we asked twice for the in room safe to be opened from the previous guest, but it was still not done by the time we left.

We managed to get a space in the car park, which if you arrive laste ona friday is a bit of a nightmare to find !

On arrival hotel presented well. Excellent location. Clean and comfortable however the accumulation of minor problems let this hotel down. If situated at the front of the hotel extremely noisy night life to be heard, no air conditioning therfore window had to be left slightly open, overhead fan in room noisy. Kettle blew up on our last morning. Broken glass in lift. When ordering a drink at the bar prominent lipstick marks on glass, very nice bar staff apologized however five other glasses had to be put aside due to lip stick staining which did put you off slightly. Food lovely although not too much choice for pudding. On our first morning three buckets placed on the floor in dining area due to a leak!!!! Reception staff friendly and housekeeper on third floor very helpfull when we couldnt get into our room. Despite negativities described above the hotel provided us with a pleasent stay but there is room for improvement.
