Stayed at jolyon's following a night at the Millenium Centre and can do nothing but praise. Fabulous location, wonderful room, great breakfast, lovely bar and a polite ,helpful owner. The only reason I would hesitate to recommend this is that I liked it so much myself, I am reluctant to share this little gem!

Save your money and spend it elsewhere where you will recieve true boutique treatment and you can't possibly find a more dreadful owner than him anywhere else. Looking back i wished i had spent more attention to guest reviews and would have saved money rather than have been treated apallingly by the owner himself. On having to cancel our room my partner was told that he would not be charged if they managed to relet the room and would try there upmost to do this. After telephoning to check if they had vacancies for that evening we were told that the hotel was fully booked and you can imagine our shock to find that we had been charged for the room in full.

On telephoning to resolve the matter and get a refund which you would expect after being told that there would be NO CHARGE but instead got told some great story that they did have a room free that evening by the owner himself. I asked why would you say on the phone then that you were fully booked and he paused and came up with the idea that he slept in that room that evening because he felt like it although he does have his own quarters within his B&B ! I asked continously why were we told that it was fully booked to which was not properly answered. You would have thought that after being caught out that an apology and refund would have offered. You can not charge people for a room that would not have been available to us that evening if we had wanted to stay as it was occupied and he has pocketed double the money for it. This is a very underhand way to try and run a business and totally unprofessional and very deceitful !

He also went on and took the conversation on the phone down to a personal level and got very cheeky and rude. He also contrdicted himself several times and stated at one point that 8pm was to late to let a room ( what nonsense !?)and the latest time to make a reservation would be around 5pm because the reception is then shut and run from the bar. As he stated in his own words it is run like a b&b in the evening. Which would confirm other guest comments that his hotel is in no way BOUTIQUE but a bland BED & BREAKFAST !!!

Take my advise which is free and save yourself the hassle of ever having to encounter this rude and obnoxious so called hotelier !!!!

We stayed at Jolyons over the weekend whilst watching Nicholas Nickleby at the Millenium Centre, its an ideal location as its just across the road. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with wonderful antique furniture, we had a jacuzzi bath which was a great way to end the evening and relax, Jolyon himself is charming and an excellent host, the breakfast cooked by Jolyon was lovely with good quality ingredients, can't recommend this place enough!!

Wonderful! My son and I spent only one day/night at Jolyons as we attented a large sport event in Cardiff. But long enough to teel everyone who wants to listen: Jolyons was the perfect place to stay - and the atmosphere! A nice classic contrast to the modern harbour front. This hotel is recommended for service, rooms and breakfast - and the feeling os being taken care of.

“Fantastic Hotel!! and Friendly Service”

Jolyon's Boutique Hotel

We stayed at Jolyon's on the weekend and had a brilliant time. The room we stayed in was beautiful inside and had an exceptional view of the Cardiff Bay and courtyard.

The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. You cant beat the location of Jolyon's, as it was just a 2min walk to basically anywhere at the Bay. One of the best things though has got to be their bar downstairs. We came back after dinner and it was a great place to relax for a few drinks. (bit crowded sure, but then it was a Friday night!).

I'd recommend Jolyon's to anyone looking for a hotel that has a more personal and friendly touch; somewhere special. There were roadworks going on at the time of our stay which restricted parking (and i can see how parking could be an issue), but as we didnt have a car it didnt bother us in the slightest!
