So many things were wrong I don't know where to begin! THE FOOD: We arrived late Tuesday night and Lorna took our breakfast orders through verbal communication. Next morning, only 1 order was correct. Another morning there was a hair in my food and it was obviously not mine as it was attached to the potato bit I got. However, for me, I always got my orders correctly made but for my friends it came wrong. Each one of them told me she didn't give them a correct order at least once.
ACCOMODATIONS:
My first problem came when I laid down in the bed and could smell on the pillow that the sheets had obviously not been changed. Woke up and went to take a shower and noticed that the shower had not been cleaned. There was hair from the previous guest not only in the shower but on the floor from the last few guests. It was obvious that the bathroom had only gotten a light touch and not a thorough cleaning.
I stayed in a double/triple room and a friend of mine (who arrived a day later) was in a single en suite room. At breakfast the morning after she arrived, Lorna asked her if she could move rooms to the standard room without en suite because she had overbooked the place and was having to give up even her own room for this. She felt bad of course so helped my friend move (who was not happy about it!). Unfortunately, the room she was moving my friend to had a guest in it the night before, so obviously it needed cleaning but she said she would take care of that while we were out and could my friend still move her things over now. While helping my friend she begins to make up the bed in the new room without changing the sheets! My friend points this out to her and she changes the sheets. Mind you, my friend booked this hotel for all 6 of us back in November but these people who put her into overbooking booked in December!
I saw a previous review and there was a different name for the manager but it seems the attitude is the same. It feels as if the management is saying, "You're in my books but wait, now you're not. I've overbooked can you move to a new room and I won't clean it for you?" It's like a slap in the face to the guest.
I personally was ready to pack up but I didn't want to leave my friends behind. And although they saw the place as I did, they felt that it wouldn't be worth it to leave when all we did was sleep there. Each one of us has said we would not stay there again, nor would we recommend it to our friends, so I won't recommend it to you!
Lorna comes off as overwhelmed, underprepared and in WAY over her head. She is a nice lady but this isn't her line of work. She needs to either step it up or find a new job because I can imagine that there will be more people unhappy with the place.
