“Fantastic place in the heart of Belfast”

This is a fantastic hotel. Exceptionally friendly staff, very very clean and in a wonderful location. A few minutes from Botanic train station and right in the heart of the bustle of Belfast. The hotel has car parking with CCTV (though this is limited, so arrive early). Wonderful breakfast in the morning and waiting staff couldn't do enough to help... I can't wait to stay here again.

I've never written a review before but Tara Lodge is a little gem and deserves praise. Breakfasts were wonderful, perfectly presented and served. Staff were friendly and helpful (even answering emails before we arrived) We were at the back of the hotel and yes there is some noise from trains but it's not frequent and not intrusive. The area is not great being a typical student part of town but it's never threatening and always vibrant! However, the up side is the sheer amount of cafes, bars and restaurants! The walk to town is easy, about 10 mins. All in all, highly recommended.

“It's not really a hotel”

When we saw all the reviews on Tripadvisor showing Tara Lodge Hotel as no 1 place to stay in Belfast it seemed to suit what we required for a one night stay. It was very reasonable at £85 prpn b&b and very clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom and superb bed. The location was as others have described but we walked out at night for a meal and drink and felt very safe and unthreatened which I couldn't say about other city centres like Glasgow and Edinburgh. We liked the views from our bedroom window of the hills and H &W cranes which typify Belfast for us, and it was good to be able to open the windows and get in plenty of fresh air as weather was very warm during our visit. The train line runs pretty close at the back and from 6.30am was some noise. Breakfast was fine, although we have had better Ulster Frys. Only thing we missed was not having a bar area and that is why I think Tara Lodge is more a guest house and not really a hotel.

“Fabulous Hotel”

Stayed here for a girls weekend in April. Check in was easy with very friendly chap on the reception desk - who had a bit of a banter with us. Rooms were modern and clean (lovely bathrooms). Rooms were warm and nicely decorated. Hotel is located very close to shops/Bars/Restaurants all within walking distance or a taxi (which was cheap) if required. Breakfasts were fab and very nicely presented. Staff were friendly and helpful and even though we only stayed for 2 nights the rooms were cleaned each day with fresh towels and toiletries. Can definitely recommend this hotel.
