We stayed here for one night. The man at reception was very nice and good humored. The room was quite nice although the bathroom could do with a freshen up, there were scuff marks everywhere, stains on the ceiling, and the toilet didn't flush properly. The bed was comfortable, it would have been nice to have had softer pillows as they were so hard they gave me a headache!
Although, I have pointed out some negatives about the room all in all it was good value for money.
We decided to go down for drinks to the bar, where we didn't have the best experience. The staff were nice but did not seem to know what they were doing or how to work the till (maybe they had just started?) After a long wait, we received our drinks which were supposed to be gin and tonics but were actually gin and soda. When I went to the bar for another round of drinks, the staff had been changed, and the girl behind the bar ignored me while she cashed up the till and then left the bar still having not acknowledged the fact that I had been standing there for a long time. When we eventually got served, I asked for two small glasses of wine, but received two medium glasses and then was charged for two large glasses!!!!! At the prices the hotel is charging for drinks in their bar, this was not the kind of service we expected.
On a more positive note, the staff at breakfast time were excellent. Friendly and very helpful.

Thank you for your comments in regard to your stay in April 2012. As General Manager of the Copthorne Hotel Aberdeen, feedback is important and valuable to us.
I wanted to send you my personal, sincere apologies for the problems you encountered during your evening at the bar. The necessary corrective action will be taken to ensure this does not happen again, preventing others experiencing the disappointment that you received, which is far below our normal standard.
I would like to thank you for your constructive comments. I sincerely hope that we may have the opportunity of welcoming you back to the Copthorne Hotel, Aberdeen in the not too distant future.
