Held my 30th birthday party at the Carmelite, a perfectly located hotel near the train station and city centre. From start to finish the staff were very attentive, helpful and polite. Bibiana gave us all the information and assistance we needed to arrange the event beforehand. Alan who was looking after us on the night and his colleagues, all fantastic, cannot praise them enough. We used the Balmoral function room for the party which had plenty space for around 50+ guests seated at round tables, a band and a dance floor. The room also has its own bar so you don't have people disappearing out to the main bar all night and the stylish decor added to the 1920s theme of the party. The canapes and buffet were lovely and didn't seem to last long among my guests, the cod goujons were my favourite!
My husband and I decided to stay the night in The Best Suite as it was a special occasion. We saw all of the themed suites prior to booking and they all have their perks but the Best was my favourite due to the slipper bathtub and luxurious design. Worth shelling out that bit extra for a special occasion and if you're likely to spend a bit of time in the room eg. getting ready for a fantastic birthday bash!
The morning after, I enjoyed a very tasty cooked breakfast in the room which really went down well after a night of cocktails and dancing. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend at the Carmelite and regularly visit for drinks and a game of Jenga (which is on all the tables in the bar area). Cannot recommend this place enough.
