I was travelling up and down through the Mull of Kintyre, tired after a long day in business terms, today.
Saw a sign just out of C/Town on the way back to Glasgow,'Putechan',turned in for a break and bit of lunch.Very taken by the homely welcoming atmosphere, owners and staff all looking to help, without being intrusive or demanding of my custom. The hotel is in early days,i recall it as a run down hunting lodge from my many trips doown the penninsula.
Have to say, wish i had been able to stay for a few days as the decor and interior design are up to a unique standard not too often experienced in this part of the world.
Food,Bar and a la' carte excellent and reasonably priced.Having no regard for Gordon Ramsey,he trains his students very well indeed;specialities in all areas of;fish(local),meat, bird and vegetarian. Thanks Tom!
The journey back to the city was slight in comparison to the long tired arrival at Campbeltown on the way down.
I have only ever written one trip advisor entry before and that was in relation to an extremely negative experience up in Glenuig.Whatever try this one folks for an overnight, scenery, freshness and friendliness.Like myself,i think we'll all be coming back for more....Mibbee its just Scottish West coast and its essential beauty. We do need however to offset this with a reasons for our journey's sustenance.
Well done folks.Hope you make it ....tonykaye

We can also offer more budget accommodation in our rear facing rooms and ‘bunk rooms’. We also have a fully refurbished and extended Venue catering for a variety of events from weddings (up to 120 seated). Attached to the south wing is the sensational ‘Rock Room’ with one whole wall formed by a massive rock with French doors to the rear and front with stunning views over the ocean. The room seats around twenty and could be used for meetings, smaller intimate weddings, yoga/fitness work-outs, business meetings, or an exhibition hall for local artists.
