We booked in for a weekend, when we settled down in our room we found that the toilet did not flush. Very quickly the duty manager came to see us and soon after we were offered a new room. This was clearly the best in the hotel, it had just been upgraded, a front bedroom with bay window and loch views, four poster bed and lovely bathroom - we were very pleased!

The staff were very attentive - although there was not a Scot amongest them! Value was also excellent - we thought the rate was B&B but we were not charged for dinner. I don't know if that was a mistake - I didn't argue!

A nice hotel well run.

We were given a 2 night stay at this Hotel for our Honeymoon. On arrival the Hotel seemed stunning and the views incredible. Upon arriving at the reception I waited whilst the receptionist held a telephone conversation which seemed somewhat inappropriate and had to wait approx 5-6 mins on her ending the call. We checked in and headed up stairs to our room or should I say headed up to the attic which is where the receptionist's directions seemed to be taking us. Now don't get me wrong the room’s cleanliness was to a very high standard however we were spending our honeymoon in a shoebox (we were in the eve's of the hotel). The bathroom was bigger than the bedroom and my new husband was lucky as he just fitted on the bed and no more (this was to be a none eventful honeymoon!). The stunning view from our room was the hotels roof - superb!! The next surprise was even better the hotel fire alarm went off at 2.45am. We were told after much debate to take our selves to the rear of the hotel and congregate in the car park. There we are a honeymoon couple stumbling around in the dark trying to make our way to an assembly point to be told "We don't know what the issue is we are trying to investigate" good on the bloke who should from the darkness "can you tell us what's going on please" or we could still be there waiting on the hotel management. The final straw was on checking out when the receptionist had no idea of our reservation and when she commented on why I was leaving a night early she stated "oh good that will save me some problems in the morning then" apparently another guest's shower had stopped working so this was her get out clause to use our early vacated room for them the next morning (good luck as our shower head was completely knackered!). As she was still looking for our details to check us out the receptionist commented again this time that we were booked in to arrive in 2 days time and for some reason she had 2 rooms booked for us. I wouldn’t like to think that was our upgrade with a stunning view after all this was supposed to be our "Honeymoon"!

we got a good price for this hotel through active holidays but would not pay the rack rate which is 125 pounds far too expensive. The room was ok average fair. Leisure facitilies spot on, a lovely pool and hot tub, the sauna was also very good alas the steam room was not working. it was the little things that bugged us. Stale bread at the evening meal, water with no ice and coffee which was luke warm, the meal itself was good but the little things mar this hotel and they need to sort them out. The lounge is lovely big leather settees were really comfy but the other public area such as the stairs and landings look shabby and need some work. as I say for 190 pound for 3 nights, it was good value but if it had cost 375 pounds I would have been very disappointed. THE one major disappointment was breakfast, a rasher of back bacon, a sausage half a slice of fried bread half a tomato...you get the picture or there was the choice of kippers... well a kipper actually. So uninspired, no omelet, fresh fish or cold meats just a few cereals, fruit juice and then the hot choice. Even bed and breakfasts can offer more than this. To add insult the last day we went for breakfast at 9.55 to be told it had finished at 9.30. Now I understand in city hotels which cater on a Monday with businessmen that breakfast does finish earlier but this is a holiday resort and to have to be at breakfast just after nine seems very early but as the breakfast was so uninspiring it wasnt such a great loss. Yes visit but only for the right price, this is a hotel that has pretentions to be a * above what it is and seems to be pricing itself at 4/5 star rates.

Had a really enjoyable stay at the Loch Fyne Hotel.
Staff cannot do enough for the guests. Food was excellent.
Furnishings in rooms could be updated but otherwise no complaints.
Would recommend to anyone.

We enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel just a 7 minute walk from the centre of town.
The hotel is warm and newly decorated. We were given the last remaining room, a discounted suite overlooking the water. The room was beautifully decorated and was sold to us for 100 pounds with breakfast for 2. The view from the window seat was lovely and we had a plasma TV and a Victorian bath. The cheaper rooms were also well decorated but smaller and without the views.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good and served in a light, bright room with tartan carpets. There was ample free parking. A voucher from reception gives you 20% discount at the goal and Inveraray Castle which is very worthwhile.

I would definitely consider returning to this hotel for a longer stay and would take the dinner, bed and breakfast option.
