We stayed at Whitecroft Mansion for two nights on our honeymoon - it was perfect!
It's an imposing hotel with fantastic rooms but without any accompanying stuffyness or formality. We picked the Honey Bee suite and weren't disappointed - four poster bed and wooden staircase up to a spacious bathroom with roll-top bath in the eaves of the mansion.
We found the hotel and staff very friendly and welcoming and felt relaxed from the moment we arrived - sipping wine on the leather sofas in front of a real fire. The food was delicious, excellent quality. My only slight fault is that the vegetarian choices could be more imaginative.
The surrounding countryside is stunning and it's the perfect base for exploring the Solway Firth. But please don't all flock here, we want to return and have it as our own romantic hideaway!

Just returned from a wonderful weekend at this lovely hotel, The setting is quiet and the marble suite was luxurious. We dined in the restaurant and the food and menu was excellent.

It was lovely and relaxing and the couple running the hotel are extremely friendly - have already been recommending this as a special get a way!

This was our second stay at Whitecroft and once again the experience was out of this world so much so we booked straight away to head back in 6 weeks time.

The overall experience of staying at whitecroft is incredible, not only will Dianne and Stephen (the owners) look after you as if you were precious cargo its almost like the accommodation itself has a personality.

This isn’t like a hotel stay it’s like visiting a good friend and enjoying a few drinks with them in comfortable surroundings.

If you book to stay you MUST eat at the restaurant the food is outstanding and the service is A+

Trust me if you’re thinking about a break away you won’t get a better place than this.

I have no doubt at all that Andrea and I will visit Whitecroft year in year out for years to come!

My partner and I have just returned from what can only be described as a truly relaxing wonderful weekend break away. This is the second time we have stayed in the hotel and I am already desperate to go back, we have booked up to go back in a few weeks time as I just cant get enough of this place. From the moment you arrive to be greeted by a warm friendly relaxed welcome to the minute you leave everything about the hotel is wonderful. Each room is individually designed each with a warm homely yet stylish finish to it. Nothing is too much for the lovely hosts Stephen & Diane. Even relaxing in the front lounge with a drink feels like sitting in the comfort of your own home with the roaring fire and flickering candle light. The food is excellent with a great choice of fresh ingrediants cooked very well indeed.
This is a great getaway for all ages and for all type of break.
Its a true scottish mansion with bags of character style and homliness.
I have read a few reviews on this site about the hotel and all seem to be very positve anmd complementary, apart from one, which i failed to understand and disgree with the comments left!!
I love this place and cant wait to return! Id love to get married here and am seriously considering this place! Stephen and Diane are great hosts and are sure to make anyone feel welcome and relaxed.
