I stayed at the Gordon House Hotel while on business in the area.
I would definitely recommend it and will stay here again, perhaps I will bring the wife next time.

The room was clean, well furnished and comfortable.
Breakfast was as good as you will get anywhere, a great start to the day.

There is a restaurant, a bar with a real fire and a games room.
The atmosphere is good and the staff are very helpfull and freindly.

The food is excellent and the portions generous, I would recommend this place for a meal and a drink even if you are not staying here (look for the specials board, I've had some great meals here).

I don't believe that I have ever had a nicer meal. We visited on the Saturday, had a lovely dinner, and returned on Easter Sunday with thirteen other people. The service there was great, friendly staff, (the two waitresses that served us were very polite and even kept us amused. My mate Andy definately liked them...) relaxing music, and a gorgeous meal. I've never seen a prawn cocktail with so many prawns, or garlic mushrooms so well presented (and tasty). This is definately THE best Hotel/Restaurant in Dumfries, and I would definately return with more friends.

Very nice hotel in a traditional and quiet Scottish harbour town.

Rooms are nicely furnished and hosts are very friendly.

The hotel is in the middle of the historic artists town and is walking distance from all local attractions.

The full Scottish breakfast was very filling and very tasty too!
