“Fantastic stay (again)”

Fludha Guest House

2 Aug 2007

We have stayed with Steve and Christine in their last B&B in Castle Douglas so we knew when we booked a two nights stay that we would be well looked after.
We stayed in room 4 in what must be the largest bedroom we have ever stayed in, it should be called a suite, the bed was an English king size and very comfy (we have found most beds in B&B's to be uncomfortable) we also had a small leather sofa to relax and watch the huge 42 in tv.
The bathroom had a large power shower and a bath.
We agree with the other coments on trip advisor about the quality and attention to detail that shows the moment you walk through the door, it is a credit to Steve and Christine.
We enjoyed a glass of Champagne with Christine and Stephen in their garden, we were even blessed with the presence of the sun on that day.

My wife and I had the privilege of being the first guests to stay at Fludha - the builders were still in residence ! This didn't matter as the welcome we received from Steve and Christine was so warm and friendly that we just knew we were in for a great stay.
Our room had only just been completed and there were 5 more to go but oh, the quality oozed out of every pore.
Nothing is too much trouble for Steve and Christine - they are real professionals when it comes to owning and sharing such a beautiful home. Their hospitality - the attention to every small detail and the quite exceptional food which they both prepare has to be experienced to be believed.
Forget the larger hotels - this is the place to stay in Dumfries and Galloway and we shall certainly return to renew our friendship with them both and their lovely home.

“Well how delightful is this”

Fludha Guest House

1 Jul 2007

Well how delightful is it - very.

My husband and I stayed here at the end of June, coming home on the 1st July. This is a wonderful place to stay if you are staying in this town or indeed the surrounding area.
The B&B is a large detached villa set on an elevated site at the edge of the town with views over the estuary.
The property is almost complete from renovation work carried out. The hallway is the only thing that remains to be completed, and this is almost done.It in no way detracts from the stay.

The establishment is very tastefully furnished with fine furniture and bedlinens. Lovely big flatscreen TV up on the wall in the bedroom. Tasteful touches like Portmerion crockery in the bedroom for tea and coffee as well as cut glass tumblers for soft drinks.

Food was lovely. Lotsof choice for breakfast, cereal, fruit, yoghurt porridge as well as cooked breakfast or kippers. All cooked to your liking from the Aga.

Good parking in their own carpark outside the front door.

Hosts very welcoming and friendly, and the place is kept in immaculate order.

Would certainly recommend to others and would definitely visit again if back in the area.

“Great Stay”

Fludha Guest House

25 Jun 2007

The stay was excellent and the owners made us most welcome. The rooms are spacious and well presented especially the room for disabled people in wheel chairs which has a shower that can be used in a wheel chair. The breakfast menu is varied with plenty to choose from.
