My wife and I spent two days at Marchbankwood in mid-June.

We could not have wished for anything better. The room we had was large and comfortable with amazing views over the Moffat hills.

Sally and her husband were very friendly and welcoming and immediately made us feel at ease.

The breakfasts were first class and if you are really brave you might want to try the "Full Scottish Breakfast" - enough to carry you through to dinner.

We hope to return.

We have had the good fortune to have stayed at Marchbankwood House not one time, not two times, but three times when traveling to Scotland from southern England. This B&B should be the model for all B&Bs to aspire to. Elegant but understated, comfortable, spacious with views to die for. We will always return when traveling and would never give a thought to staying anywhere else. We sleep better there and enjoy a breakfast, prepared by the lovely Sally, that is unequaled in variety and quality. Just excellent!

We stayed for one night at Marchbankwood House in July but it felt as though we were gone for a week! The rooms are beautiful and the view from our room "Holly" was just stunning. We were early in arriving but our hosts provided tea and shortbead which we had in the garden.
In the evening we dook a bottle of wine outside and were provided with candles and proper glasses. We couldn't have asked for anything more and I am sure we will be back. Don't miss this place!

My parents, my husband and I recently stayed at Marchbankwood House for 3 nights and had a wonderful time.

The bedrooms are large, light and airy with wonderful views. Beds are comfy with crisp white bed linen. A kettle, biscuits, bottled water. tea. coffee, etc. are provided with an option of fresh milk if you prefer it to the individual long life type.

The guest lounge and dining is a similarly large airy room with french windows to the garden. The sofas are lovely comfortable sort that you don't want to get out of.

There are lots of original features, windows have the original shutters, there is lovely plaster work and an enormous fireplace in the hall.

The hosts are lovely, they greet you with an offer of tea or coffee which is served in an enormous pot in the lounge with accompanying shortbread.

Breakfast is delicious with lots of choice. The eggs come from the free range hens which also provide much entertainment as they wander the grounds.

A wonderful relaxing place to stay, I can't wait to return.

Stayed for one night in Marchbankwood - great hosts, massive bed in a lovely spacious room and a good breakfast. A real period house, tastefully decorated, and very handy for the M74. A good stop-off point en route to and from Scotland. Go visit!
