On the occasion of my mother's 85th birthday we revisited The Redwood Lounge at the Invercarse Hotel and had another lovely meal.
The birthday girl had the salmon two ways as a starter and enjoyed every mouthful, this was followed by the minute steak - a plate heaped with french fries and the biggest minute steak you have ever seen. Not a dish for those with a smaller appetite.
I started with the Artisan Breads and Oils - beautifully baked breads, each with their own character and flavour served with two oils, one with pesto in and the other mixed with balsamic vinegar (as if that were possible), this was followed by the Three Cheese and Caramelized Onion Tarts - they were wonderful!! And to end my meal I had the Spiced Apple Crumble served with Cinnamon Ice Cream and Maple Syrup. For this final dish of my meal I wish I'd brought my camera simply to capture the imagination of the chef in serving my portion of crumble in a tea cup!!!
The third member of our party had the gammon steak and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Again the service was second to none with fantastic food all at a very reasonable price.
Dare I say it once more....we will definitely be back!!!More
