Not particularly cheap, but for us it was a luxurious 3 night break within a couple of minutes of both the City centre and the back entrance to the railway station (through a street level side door with lift up 5 floors to reception). The evening theatre menu (2 courses £12.95 and 3 courses £16.95, both with coffee/tea) was excellent value if you were seated before 6.30pm. Good quality breakfast. Excellent base for walking the City with the option of returning for a rest before setting out again. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Hotel room had everything (safe, fridge, ironing board etc). We particularly valued the complimentary bottles of water in the fridge each night and also the complimentary Pringles and Jelly Beans - first night only.

Stayed for three nights in July with friends on a golf trip. The hotel is lovely - very well presented, and in a great location for all central Edinburgh facilities. The staff are very welcoming, particularly Paula on reception, and Simon in the main bar.

The rooms are fine. Plenty of room, big TV, decent bathroom, etc. Room service is quick and reasonably priced. Pool area is lovely, and you can often have it to yourself.

Breakfast was a little hectic, and not as good as other aspects of the hotel. The food itself was good, but the atmosphere was a bit rushed, juice warm, etc.

All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending this fabulous hotel, and we will definitely return. The staff are great and it's in a great location.

Very central, clean, fresh and modern hotel, great for a weekend break.

Room tip: Even the 'standard' city rooms are luxurious! Huge bed, tv and bathroom..

When you spend your time in Scotland you are happy when the inside is charming, pleasant and wecolmes you all the time. This is not only true for the Apex Waterloo Place Hotel rooms but also for the services in the restaurants, bar and hotel. It is in walking distance to the airport bus and the train station (even with your trolleys) and close to business and tourist locations in EDI.
