We stayed here last Saturday for my boyfriends birthday using the Itison Voucher. Both Hotel buildings are lovely, spotlessly clean and really nicely decorated. The staff on arrival were very polite and went out their way to help with carrying our bags and making sure our stay was perfect.
We ate at the Skerries restaurant as we had an allocation towards the meal included with the voucher, we had the steaks and they were delicious, although a bit pricey it was definitely nice as a treat. The atmosphere of the restraint and bar was relaxing and the staff were again very helpful throughout the meal. The honesty bar in Dunstane House is also lovely and we found it a great place to relax after dinner before heading back to our room!
Our room was nice, although a lot smaller than expected (we probably should of paid the extra to upgrade) but was very clean and nicely decorated and had everything we needed for our stay.
The hotel is in a great location, close to Edinburgh city centre, but with the benefits of it being very quiet at night.
Overall I would definitely recommend the Dunstane Hotel and we would definitely go back again, especially if there was another deal on, as it was great value for money!

Room tip: Pay the extra to upgrade as the room we had was quite small, none the less it was still nice!

Hello Jess

Thanks for reviewing us after your stay - it seems you made the most of your stay with us on the deal! I am so pleased you liked our idea of the Honesty Bar, we think it works well and gives our guests peace and quiet without being bothered by staff if that is what they want.

There is also of course the option of the Stane Bar and Skerries if they want to be pampered and looked after! And as you did you can tuck into our delicious steaks and other wonderful dishes.

I hope you don't forget us and you come and visit us again soon.

A quick city break away in the heart of Edinburgh. At arrival you are welcomed by approachable staff who have the great knowledge of the hotel and area. The hotel is grand with a modern twist. Excellent dinning from the finest produce. A night of luxury but worth the price. Having breakfast in bed was worth the extra cost. Welcome to a 5 star experience for a night away in the capital city.

Hi Mark!

Well done you spotting the deal! We don't run them often at The Dunstane so they are like gold dust when we do!

Thanks for sharing your photos as well....it's lovely to see our guests really enjoying their stay and taking full advantage of all our facilities - including a romantic breakfast in bed!

Hopefully you wont forget us and you will come and see us again soon!

This hotel meets all expectations. The food is excellent. The rooms and common areas are all of a high standard and spotlessly clean. But most of all the staff are very friendly and professional and strive to make your stay as great as it can be. The hotel is also only a 15 minute walk from Princes Street and therefore an excellent base for exploring the city of Edinburgh.

We stayed overnight here for a birthday celebration. There were 4 of us in 2 rooms and the hotel very much met our expectations. The furnishings were traditionally comfortable and staff are professional, friendly and relaxed. We had dinner at Skerries Restaurant and the fish soup was a particular delight! It's not pretentious but good quality comfort and we would definitely go back again.

There is such a warm comfortable atmosphere at this hotel that I felt as if I was at home. The building itself is a wonderful old aristocratic family home built in an elegant style, reminiscent of a more genteel bygone age; its situation a short walk from the city centre. The rooms are really cosy, with fitted carpets, a comfortable sofa, armchairs, a dressing table cum writing dress and, of course, a table with TV.
Most of all, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, Jamie in particular, deserving a special mention here. Nothing is too much trouble for them in their efforts to make your stay a pleasurable one.
The breakfast menu includes a traditional Scottish plate of eggs with bacon, accompanied by haggis and tatties. Also available is smoked salmon on scrambled eggs....delicious! Unfortunately, the chef was on holiday after Christmas, during my January sojourn in Edinburgh, so I am unable to comment on the usual evening menu.
All in all, this is a hotel that I would have no hesitation in highly recommending.
