The Balmoral Hotel

The best hotel in Edinburgh. Located just a few steps away from shops&restaurants of George's Street, it gives a straight and fast access to all the historic sites of the city. We walked to Edinburgh Castle in 15 minutes.
Very large, spacious and well maintained rooms, fabulous breakfasts with good music, very good service and attention from the staff. And what a bathrobe in the room! :)
Yes, it's a but overpriced but so are the 5* in England. Comparing to Sheraton Edinburgh, The Balmoral is worth the money.

stayed for just one night in February, room had an amazing view over the city, great service, lovely entrance and great location

overall probably still overly expensive for what you got and if the room didnt have a view I dont think it would have been worth it, as an extra charged 6.50 for internet use which was quite mean i thought.

After traveling for 21 hours, we stumbled our way into the hotel and were immediately greeted by enthusiastic employees that cater to your every need. I had booked two rooms for our party (deluxe doubles) and the rooms were very spacious and SUPER clean. The first room they gave us had a queen bed (we had requested one with a king) and they quickly arranged another room and transferred us and our luggage. The location is SUPERB, right on Princes Street, and is right next to the train station which was very convienent for us. We went sightseeing the next day and they held our luggage for us after check-out so we could enjoy Edinburgh for as long as we wanted. (A hop on/off bus tour is right around the corner next to the Scott Monument.) We found a great little breakfast spot, across the street and through an alley (behind Burger King) called the Snax Cafe, great food, very inexpensive and we saw a lot of the staff from The Balmoral stopping in there for a bite. I will post pictures of our room to show how truly lovely this hotel room was. Also, we only paid 165 pounds for our room on a 'specials' page on their website. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

This hotel is absolutely fabulous - do not let any negative review put you off. Stepping off a busy Princes Street you are led into a peaceful, tranquil world where the staff are so helpful and nothing is too much bother.

The rooms are amazing, huge bathrooms, comfy beds, good quality room service, amazing spa & leisure facilities.

But all in all the staff make this hotel and I will be back!!!
