We spent 4 nights here, exploring Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. This is a most convenient location, a block from the beach at Portobello, and a block from the bus stop. The accommodations were perfect for us, clean, comfortable and well kept. The breakfasts were excellent and Richard and Ursula are wonderful innkeepers! We highly recommend this guest house.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Ardgarth Guest House in Edinburgh. This family run guest house is magnificient in every way, especially by the personal attension of Ursula and her dedicated young staff that are always at your service, even in minor needs. The excellent quite location makes this guest house ideal to commute with ease by public transport to the city centre.

Exceptional place to stay. The hosts were very professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. They went "above and beyond the call" to save our trip when we arrived a day late and without our luggage.

The accomodations were very clean and well kept and the location was as charming and beautiful as portrayed on their website.

The breakfast had a very nice variety of good food - something for everyone in our family.

We stayed at Ardgarth Guest House at the beginning and end of our trip to Scotland and considered it 'home' while on our vacation.

We were looking for an inexpensive, yet clean and efficiently run place for our larger party of 10. We certainly found it here and more. Ardgarth is on a quiet street (a great comfort after the rush of the city center) yet near to the amenities of Portobello. The staff were friendly and helpful, and directed us to the Sant-Andrea Restaurant, which was close by and which I can also highly recommend, especially for those who like Italian cuisine. Thanks once again to all the staff of Ardgarth House for making our stay so pleasant.
