filthy, dirty room. Bed almost on floor. Food disgusting and no brown toast whole stay. Staff very little english. Showers dreadful. When we brushed our teeth in the sink the water came up into the shower tray . We did not notice until it overflowewd. Disgusting. Toilet filthy. No room to swing a cat. If this is what tourists see when they come to Scotland God help them. It is not a reflection of even the worst b&b in Scotland. It defies belief that the tourist board do not pay more attention to all the rooms. Obviously they only let them see so much of the hotel and let out others because no way would it merit a star. Do not go near room 16!!

I stayed at the LOMOND HOTEL GLASGOW on the 13 january 2008.Stayed in the family room for one night, room was spotless clean. When we made the booking receptionist was very helpful in giving us directions to the hotel. We reached the hotel at 6pm, asked for eating and entertainment places nearby, receptionist was very helpful in giving us leaflets.LOMOND HOTEL is situated in the heart of glasgows west end, 2 mins walk from BOTANIC GARDENS and BYRES ROAD and easily accessible by public transport.LOMOND HOTEL also gets top marks for its breakfast. I strongly recommend a visit to LOMOND HOTEL.

This Hotel needs a good vaccum clean. The tea/coffee making facilities in our room had a dirty cup and out of date UHT milk. The window frame was rotten and black, the ceiling light only had one working lightbulb and was covered in cobwebs and we were awoken by the sounds of a fight in the middle of the night.
Cant comment on the breakfast on offer as we were keen to check out as fast as possible. Avoid staying here at all costs!

Looks ok from ouside its the inside where its horrid,we stayed on top floor back room ,the damp rot in room was painted over above the make shift ensuite, the towels where rougher than the edges of Ben Nevis, bit of a task to make the tea in your room as a limited amount of plug outlets.

As for breakfast oh my god it was swimming with what resemble an plate of beans with scambled egg a sausage bacon and black pudd they where all doing back stoke, we didnt eat it the grumpy old cow who served it was so put out as if where an inconvience to her,the elderly couple at the other table where just as disgusted as we where there toast was pretty animic looking.

“Convenient place but staff not too friendly”

The Lomond was in a very convenient spot in what is considered an upmarket area in the West End and is set on a high road parallel to the main Great Western Road and about 5-7 minutes bus ride from the city with a bus stop down the front. It was also a block away from the Botanical Gardens and across the street from a variety of food and other shops.

We dined one evening at a superb Chinese restaurant across the street with very friendly staff and a reasonably priced excellent meal.

The hotel itself is basic, very old 2-star hotel and we had to carry our luggage up four flights of stairs to the top floor (no lift). The room was basic but clean but could do with a refurbishment. The dining room was better furnished with an average breakfast and waitresses that never smiled. The price for a double room was 58 pounds per night, including breakfast. When I had trouble calling a cab for the airport when leaving, from the hotel's public phone and kept losing my money, the hotel owner did not offer to make a call on his phone for me so I had to walk down the hill and around the corner to the nearest cab rank and get the taxi to come up to our hotel to collect our luggage.

I would not stay in this hotel again but would certainly stay in this area.
