Booked double via laterooms.com for £45 for 1 night for two B&B.

Room OK & fairly typical of his type of hotel. This is our third visit over a couple of years mainly because you get a good deal via people like laterooms. This time room was OK but last time we had a room next to the noisy lift which was in common with another laterooms reviewer so watch out. If you pay discount price, maybe you get he worst rooms - who knows?

The worst thing is the breakfast experience. This is our third visit & every time there has been a problem with getting into the breakfast room. This time we had to wait about 5 minutes in a queue before getting in. Later we saw about 20 people in the queue. Two things - the breakfast room is too small & the system is all up the shoot - staff are running around like idiots but there were always a number of tables waiting to be cleared & guests waiting to be served. We were told that some staff had not turned up for work but having had this problem on all 3 of our visits over a couple of years I think its more of a management problem. Also the cooked food in the breakfast buffet is just about OK but the quality of some of the items is a bit on the cheap side (sausages & black pudding).

Hotel is located not far from Ibrox (Glasgow Rangers soccer stadium) & just around he corner from the hotel all the windows are boarded up so I wouldn't suggest a midnight stroll. Also do drive near the place around the final whistle time as the traffic grinds to a halt for at least half an hour.

Stayed here on the weekend and at first found it itimidating. Drove into the car park to find it full as a football match was on at the rangers fc club and fans were using the swallow car park. Even though there was a car park attendant monitoring cars as they came into the car park it was still full. In the end we had to park in a disabled bay. Outside fans were loitering around drinking and shouting. The hotel bar was full of fans and we had to walk through the crowd to get into the hotel.

Reception area and staff were nice. Rooms were ok. The rooms were ok and clean. Bathroom was ok and clean too. Furnituire was a bit old but expected for the price you're paying.

Once the match had started and the fans had cleared the hotel we went to the bar. Bar area was nice with comfortable seating. Bar staff were friendly with good drinks.

We left a note to have our rooms spruced up but no one had attended.

Breakfast was good. Nice clean pleasant dining/breakfast area with a good selection.

For the price they charge i thought the experience was fine.

“Last resort”

Swallow Glasgow

We stayed here for two nights as it was the only available hotel in Glasgow on that particular weekend... with good reason. Here's a sampler: bathroom was dirty; the shower was full of mould; the bed was uncomfortable, with an old matress and shabby bed clothes; the curtain rail fell down in the middle of the night; room service took 50 minutes for a toasted sandwich.

The whole place needs to be refurbished and started again; definitely would rate this only as a very last resort... put it this way, I didn't take my shoes off when I got in because I didn't want to dirty my socks.

“"Tired" hotel in a dodgy area”

This hotel is situated near Ibrox Park in Glasgow and is not in the nicest of areas. We knew this beforehand but only booked it as we could not find another hotel as they were all booked due to the Scotland V Italy football international. We decided to get a fast cab into and out off the area. On the way back after hailing a cab, we told the driver where we were going and he said....."oh...bandit country"! Says it all really. Although if you are having a quick overnight stay it is located right next to the M8 motorway and we were not disturbed by traffic. It also has free car parking which is amazing for Glasgow, although it is not situated in the city centre.

The hotel is a bit dated and really needs some refurbishment as the decor is a bit out-of-date. Our windows had damp black stains around them and wallpaper was peeling off in our bedroom.

The shower was rubbish and could only face straight down so you had to hold it in your hand all the time to shower.

The rooms seemed clean and some toiletries were provided.

I was disapointed there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Seems a bit mean.

Bar in the hotel was quite lively with big screens playing Sky Sports and there was also a wedding going on but we were not disturbed by either.

Althougth it is only a 3* hotel so I didnt expect too much but thought it could have bene better.

Breakfast is nice though - good choice and plenty of it.
