In July of this year my husband and I were privileged to stay at the Uplawmoor Inn in Scotland. This was a most auspicious occasion for both of us as it was our wedding. Our family from Spain, Germany and England came and stayed at the Hotel with us and none of us have been better taken care of in any of our stays anywhere in the world as we were at the Uplawmoor Inn.
The owners and staff went over and above to make sure that everything was perfect. Not only were our meals incredible, our rooms were also extremely comfortable.
Emma and Stuart Peacock were the most gracious hosts anyone could ever ask for.
It so happens that the Hotel is situated next to the home that I was born in. They even gave me permission to have the wedding ceremony in the actual home of my birth.
They went to great lengths to make sure that it was decorated appropriately for the most special event of our lives.
Later my husband and I, our family and friends gathered at the hotel to celebrate and the evening was magnificent.
We had the pleasure of staying there four full days and during that time we enjoyed every meal that was served to us without exception. The chef must be congratulated for all that was done to prepare this first rate dining.
Nestled in the tiny village of Uplawmoor, ten miles outside of Glasgow, this Hotel, the Uplawmoor Inn is a must for anyone who chooses to have superb quality of service and style.
We will never forget the generosity and care that we received at the hands of the owners and staff of the Uplawmoor Inn.

Sincerely,

Mahri and Harry Blum

A good little hotel thats handy for the south of Glasgow but far enough out to avaiod the hustle and bustle of city living.

The food is good and the staff friendly and helpful. The menu is interesting and varied and all freshly prepared. A sign of a good eatery is the nukmber of locals who use both the bar and the restaurant - this gives the place a warm and friendly atmosphere.

This isnt a plastic chain hotel - so dont expect a plastic sanitised room. The funishings are good without being flash and the level of cleanliness is without question. Several of the guest rooms are a bit tired - but they tell me that they are working through the hotel and the room I had was fresh and clean.

I would recommend if you prefer function over form and value basic honesty over flash modern facilities.

I travel around the country as an IT consultant frequently and stay in all sorts of hotels - from the 5 star glamour hotels in London to little B&B's. However, I have never come across such a charming hotel as Uplawmoor and can heap nothing but praise on them.
The hotel staff are first class. Warm, friendly, helpful and go beyond the pale in so many ways. The proprieters Steve & Emma are brilliant and when I couldn't get my laptop to connect to the internet even took me to their home to enable me to retrieve my work emails - THAT is customer service.
The room was well decorated and comfortable, the bar superb and the food - it was to DIE for!
All in all I would receommend anyone who is visiting the area to look no further than this hotel - I'll guarantee you'll adore it.

We had a mini break in November'06 at The Uplawmoor Hotel, and it was great.
We were rather late checking in, but the staff were very kind, helpful and nothing was too much trouble, as we found for the rest of our stay.
The bedroom was comfortable, but in need of some re-decoration, but this was far outweighed by the excellence of the quality of the food, the charming dining room, and the lovely staff whose attentions were impecable.
Even the breakfasts , with home-baked bread/toast were to die for.

We had a short break in November 2006 at this hotel, which is set in the lovely countryside on the Renfrew/Ayrshire border.Although we arrived late in the evening,we were able to get a cooked meal. The staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The bedroom was spacious, comfortable, but in need of some refurbishment.
We had breakfasts so filling we did'nt need a thing until the evening.
An excellent dinner menu each evening, we were spoilt for choice, fabulous food.
We will definitely return for another short break, very soon.
