“Most Convenient Way Tp Park And Stay”

I have stayed at this hotel many times, but have never reviewed it.
We have stayed at other airport hotels but find this the most convenient.
Like every hotel there are good points and bad ones.
We like staying here because you leave your car with them, staff securely park it and it is returned to the hotel for you.
The rooms are large enough for a family and are spotlessly clean. There is BT Openzone on offer for the laptop and the usual hotel tv.
You have a two minute walk to check in and can then return for breakfast!
The bad points are that the evening meals on offer are poor and not value for money. It is always busy and the lounge is really the reception area, so it is not very comfortable for an evening stay.
We always call the hotel direct for a deal, but they are honest enough to tell you if the web offers (like holiday extras) are better.
I would not however pay the rack rate of £150. We normally pay about £80 - £90 for one week and £90 - £100 for two weeks park and stay
If you want a bit more of the 'hotel' experience then go elsewhere like the Airport Holiday Inn. It is more expensive and if you are parking you will require to go to the expensive NCP or a secure car park. The rooms are more plush, but there is a proper restaurant and bar
On our next flight rom Glasgow I have no doubt we will be staying at the HI Express.

“Do Not Pay Extra For An 'Executive Room'”

Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport

16 Jan 2008

I booked this hotel for an overnight stay due to an early flight the following day. I paid extra for an "Executive Room"....when I got to the room it was tiny and fairly basic (even for a Holiday Inn). I contacted Reception and was moved to another room because they agreed that the Executive Pack was missing...... surprise, surprise the second room (which was even smaller) didn't include this pack either. This pack was delivered later.....which was a bottle of cheap wine, an apple an orange. When I complained I was told that all the rooms were the same and the only difference was the "pack".... believe me it is NOT worth the extra cost.

You would be much better to book into one of the other Airport hotels which are cheaper and provide much better service. I certainly never stay at this hotel ever again.

“Excellent Walking Distance to Airport”

Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport

4 Jan 2008

This is a typical Holiday Inn hotel. Not to expect much more than the hotel brand. Room given was on the top floor which had excellent views even though this was an airport hotel.

Location is brilliant for those flying out of Glasgow Airport. Walking time to check-in desks is approx 4 minutes.

Rooms were very clean and spacious. Complimentary soap and shampoo given along with tea and coffee in the room.

Room service is available 24hrs although the menu (like most hotels) is very limited between 11pm and 8am.

Reception staff VERY friendly.

“Terrible, Terrible Customer Service”

I have not stayed at this hotel, however this information is pertinant to people attending or booking conferences or events there. I was due to attend a Christmas party night at the hotel along with a large group of co-workers. The cost was £50 with a £10 deposit payable in advance. Four days prior to the night circumstances outwith my control prevented me from going.

I telephoned the customer services dept to explain my circumstances and arrange a refund of the £40 difference. The rude girl on the other end would not listen to anything I had to say, eventually fobbing me off by saying she would get her manager to call me, which she never did.

I consulted the terms and conditions on the back of the brochure which stated that the pre payment for the night would not be refunded in the event of cancellation. Pre payment to me suggested deposit, which I would be happy to forgo.

I called back the following day and spoke to the manageress who was just as hostile and unaccommodating as her subordinate and refused point blank to accept that the phrasing used in her brochure was misleading. I stated that I would accept a partial refund or credit for future use but she would not move on the issue at all.

As a result I have shelled out £50 for goods I will not consume and which the hotel will now be able to resell. They have certainly made a profit out of me and would not consider any gesture of goodwill to ensure I would consider returning to any of their hotels in future.

I would expect any business who was interested in customer retention and gaining a good reputation to be more accomodating of its guests however holiday inn clearly isnt. I will never be going back.

Do not book any events there if you expect to be treated well.

“Good if you can get the right price”

Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport

13 Oct 2007

I stay here regularly as it's the closest hotel to the airport terminal, so you can go back to your room after check in if you have time. I wouldn't pay the rack rate, however, as it's definately not a 4*, not even if you get one of their executive rooms. These are quite pleasant though not huge. Unlike the regular rooms you get wine, chocolate, bathrobes, better toiletries and a higher standard of decor. (I got upgraded once when they had overbooked)
The regular rooms are a bit tired but I've always found them clean. They are small but you are only there to sleep. The beds are variable. This last time my bed was extremely soft and I didn't get a great sleep. The triple glazing means you don't hear much noise. I have never eaten here or used the bar so can't comment. The check in staff are fairly disinterested. Not much of a warm welcome.
The rack rate is around £84 for 2 sharing room only. If you book via ABC Holiday Extras and click on the "Undercover hotel" button for the 4* on-airport hotel, you will get it for half this price.
