Booked direct with hotel for two rooms, both single occupancy for attending a business function in the Merchant City. Hotel chosen simply for its location.
Did expect a better standard for the amount paid £95 and £85 for the two rooms.
Room I occupied had a king size bed, low level, not the most comfortable, usual bad joints when matresses are pushed together.
Others will refer to the quirky decoration, which is now sadly showing its age and getting very tatty in parts.
Housekeeping could be better, room rather dusty to say the least, opened packet of chewing gum in beside drawer, floor in bathroom grubby, lots of old cigarette burns on the bedroom carpet. TV stand broken. Mosaic tiles missing and lots of cracks in bathroom, over bath shower not the best, window handle broken, I could go on and on.
Breakfast is a very simple continental, best bit was the freshly made coffee.
I would compliment the reception staff, the girl was exceptionally friendly and very helpful.
Q carpark about a 3 minute walk away, receptionist kindly looked out for wardens whilst getting car unpacked as road very restricted. Overnight car park cost £11, did get a discount voucher from hotel but not accepted by carpark machine.
OK for one night if you want this location, but I will not rush back.

Not the most spacious of hotels but very comfortable and the staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was basic but reasonable for the price and the restaurant was busy (we arrived in the middle of Saturday night after some help from the RAC) but we were found a table and well attended to.
The location is within easy walking distance of central Glasgow for shopping and the sights (such as there are.)

“Fantastic Staff”

Brunswick Hotel

I wanted a resonable hotel quite central and that is exactly what you get with the Brunswick. I booked a compact room which cost £50 for one night, it had a double bed , small desk and shower en-suite. The room was small but slept 2 adults no problem. The lady on reception was fantastic and couldn't do enough to make your stay more enjoyable. The price included a buffet continental breakfast from the adjoining Italian cafe next door.
I would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

“Not the usual hotel”

Brunswick Hotel

The hotel is quirky, a ‘minimalist’ small place linked to an Italian bar and deli. It is so unmarked that I wandered by it several times before I found the door marked ‘hotel’ and even then it was so dark inside I thought it was closed. The room was comfortable enough, but odd. There was free wi-fi but no desk to work at. The bed was ‘modern’ – low and not the softest, and the noise from the bar downstairs went on well into the night. I think it would have been a good place to stay if I had been on holiday and up for a late night in the bar downstairs. Not the best for a quiet night after a hard day's work. At least it was close to the Modern Gallery of Art which I'd been wanting to see. Authorities take the traffic cone off the head of the horseman every day, and a new one appears every morning.

“The Brunswick is exhausted...”

Brunswick Hotel

... and you will be too if you hope to sleep here.
First, the staff were very sweet and helpful as I moved rooms three times trying to get some shut eye. Unfortunately I gave up after a couple of nights and left.
Overall, the Brunswick is rundown and desperately in need of a thorough makeover (not just the tacky paint job it has received). There is no heating control (when I was there every room sweltered), the walls are not sound proofed enough (you will feel the bass from the bar downstairs until midnight) and the room design is shoddy at best. On my second night I thought I was going to get ill from inhaling the cheap chemical bleach used to wash the sheets.
While the location and bar are great you can walk here from a number of other hotels in the area. I moved to the Millenium around the corner for the same sort of price -- a stuffier affair but infinitely better value hotel.
