A couple of our friends live in the nearby spiers wharf flats so we decided to head down to Ocho before heading out.
Its a small cafe type set up but they do freshly cooked evening meals and are licensed so you can enjoy a few bottles of beer or wine with your dinner. Due to the size of the kitchen we had to wait for our meals, this wasn't a problem for us as we were told by the owner when we arrived and it gave us a good chance to catch up over our beer and enjoy the starters. The Chicken pakora and range of dips were fantastic.
The main courses were all great. I had the enchiladas which were lovely but was glad I had a starter as they could have been a bit bigger or came with something other than rice. So they are probably a better option for lunch. My friends all enjoyed their meals, chicken in haggis was the most popular and probably what I would go for when I go back.
The owner was very friendly and welcoming and she kept us entertained with her "glesga banter" - only about half of it we understood! Great fun though - will be back next time we are down.
