We stayed at the Holiday Inn for our first visit to Glasgow. Everything was first class from the friendly staff to the superb dinner. Shops, bus station, train station are all close by but we decided first day to use the tourist bus to get our bearings and hopped on/off to visit places of interest such as the Botanic Gardens and the West End. Tickets are valid for 2 days which is ample time to see various places in the city.
We had a standard en-suite double room which we found to be adequate for our needs, it was beautifully clean with complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits. Breakfast was excellent - all the usual fare, bacon, sausages, etc and a menu for eggs! There were also fruit juices, cereals and fresh fruit salad.
Worn out after shopping, we decided to eat at the restaurant for one evening and were really pleased we did - it was excellent and no wonder the chef is an award winner.
We will definitely return to Glasgow - it's a shoppers paradise! and hopefully return to the Holiday Inn again.
