“Excellent penthouse stay”

Holiday Inn Glasgow City Centre Theatreland

Recently spent a night in this hotel as an overnight stay before a flight, booked the penthouse suite for a bit of luxury and at £160 it was well worth it.

The suite comprised of a lounge, bedroom and a nice bathroom with a spa bath. The tv's were pretty big (28") and we had dvd players and a selection of current DVDs. Very spacious rooms, great comfy bed too! Also the cheapest minibar around!

Staff are helpful and friendly and the hotels in a great location. Would reccomend the restaurant aswell, top notch food and reasonable price.

My mother was taken into hospital so I booked in at The Holiday Inn. The staff were extremley caring and comforted me in a time of need. The Reception staff were very pleasant as I didnt know how long I would be staying and they let me stay as long as I wanted to. They even gave me a free newspaper every day.

The food is good, rooms nice and I would recommened this Hotel to all.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for our first visit to Glasgow. Everything was first class from the friendly staff to the superb dinner. Shops, bus station, train station are all close by but we decided first day to use the tourist bus to get our bearings and hopped on/off to visit places of interest such as the Botanic Gardens and the West End. Tickets are valid for 2 days which is ample time to see various places in the city.
We had a standard en-suite double room which we found to be adequate for our needs, it was beautifully clean with complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits. Breakfast was excellent - all the usual fare, bacon, sausages, etc and a menu for eggs! There were also fruit juices, cereals and fresh fruit salad.
Worn out after shopping, we decided to eat at the restaurant for one evening and were really pleased we did - it was excellent and no wonder the chef is an award winner.
We will definitely return to Glasgow - it's a shoppers paradise! and hopefully return to the Holiday Inn again.

“Hotel is a disgrace”

This hotel is not worth its 4* star rating. The room I was given was small but that wasn't the problem. Carpets and walls had stains on them and the bed cover had what looked like blood on it. The hotel is tired and dated and really disappointing. I cannot comment on any other services as I did not stay the night even though my room was prepaid. The person who checked me in was pleasant and efficient.

I spent 2 night on this hotel with my wife and a couple friends of ours.
The staff was not as friendly as im used to on the Holiday Inn (half answers, not a smile, i remeber one guy in particular who was on the front desk just after we arrived that if you dont understand something the solution was to speak louder!)..

Nevertheless the room was clean (a little too little), though it needs some refurbishing.

The best part is undoubtedly is location right on the center to everywhere.

So stay if you manage to cope with the front desk..
