Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Beautiful House
What a wonderful stay my family and I had in Beth’s fantastic place. The extremely large and beautifully decorated apartment was very peaceful and a lovely base for our Scottish adventure. Beth went out of her way to make sure our large family had everything we needed. There was an amazing selection of DVDs to watch and books to read and our 4 children didn’t want to leave because of the many cool kids toys. The house itself sits on a very peaceful and quite tree lined street one block from a quaint train station that has trains every 15 min to Glasgow. We loved Glasgow. Such a cool city and it was really great to be so close by train. We drove to Loch Lomond which was also very close (about 30 min away) and had a beautiful day exploring such a picturesque spot. We also explored the Clyde valley and enjoyed an exceptional day walking along the esplanade in Greenock and a delicious lunch at a cafe called One Cove Road in Gourock. We are already planning our next family trip back to Scotland and will stay here at the exceptional Bishopton apartment again as it’s the perfect base to explore this magnificent country.

Great place to stay
Ideal location for our needs. Very roomy and spacious. What we liked most there were none of those signs all over the house telling you what you could or couldn't do. Already booked for next year.

Great family friendly apartment.
Fabulous apartment, equipped with all you could need for children, on a lovely quiet street. The garden with a swing was a bonus. Highly recommended.

Great place, convenient to all
My husband had to work a week in Glasgow and this was a great, convenient place to stay. The layout is great with all rooms on one floor. There's a side yard that is quite useful if you have kids. I have two kids under 2 years old and the bus and train were at the end of the street. As far as amenities, the place had a washer, dryer (which is rare), dishwasher and a bookcase of toys (very useful if don't want to lug your own toy box while traveling). Beautiful large windows overlooking greenery on all sides, very private. The darkening shades/blinds were great for the summer late hours of sunlight. Fully stocked cooking utensils and large fridge (another rarity). Grocery store less than a mile away and kids play gymnasium in next town over. Owners were quick to reply when we had questions and very pleasant to speak to in-person. Will definitely stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

There's no better place to be!
From start to finish our stay at the Bishopton Apartment was amazing. This apartment was in a superb location with a train station 20 steps away and a convinience store with everything you could need. The apartment itself was a complete surprise as the photographs did not do the apartment justice. Clean and well presented with room to branch out and not feel on top of each other bearing in mind there were six girls in our group. No amount of words I could write will explain how great this place is but for sure I will definately be returning without a second thought

Fantastic apartment, home from home, great base for Glasgow.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile and shown round this lovely apartment and can't fault it at all. My 1 year old and 7 year old slept all night through because it was so comfortable and quiet (which is always a huge boost for us). We utilised the kitchen/dining area having family meals using local shops and takeaways which were all lovely. The spacious living room was a lovely room to relax in and for the kids to play with all the toys supplied. My daughter wants me to state that she loved the toys and books in the kids room. Everywhere we went in Glasgow was about 30 minutes away, so ideal as a base for a holiday/long weekend. We will definitely be back. Huge thanks to Beth and family. The Rennies Aberdeenshire

Brilliant
We were lucky enough to get to stay in this beautiful apartment. It is light, airy, spacious and spotless. It has every appliance that you need for self catering. There is a lovely garden area for the kids or just to sit out if you are lucky enough with the weather. The owners hospitality was amazing and they catered for all our needs. It is located in a peaceful and quiet location with a good variety of shops, newsagents, train station and bank on your doorstep. We will definitely stay there again when we return for a holiday.

Oh Wow!
Where to begin? My family (husband and daughter) and I landed at Heathrow and spent a few days in England on our way to Scotland. Sandyford was our first ever vacation rental. I booked it just a few days before we arrived. The description sounded nice and the price was reasonable, and it was available for the dates we needed. We did not really know what to expect so when we arrived, we were amazed! First, the apartment is HUGE. It has three bedrooms, a full sized kitchen, a dining room and a very large living room. It also has a nice garden with a table and chairs and a swing, which my daughter loved. The apartment is nicely decorated, with most things from Ikea (we love Ikea). One room had two twin beds, one had a single toddler bed, and once had a double or queen and its own bathroom. The room with the twin beds had a large bookcase full of toys and books. My daughter was over the moon excited about it and did not want to leave on the day we checked out. She even named the little doll and the "dog" (Carly and Dragon, respectively). It always takes her a day to get used to a new place, but she was right at home the instant we arrived. The kitchen is a full sized working kitchen, with a large refrigerator, stove, lots of counter space, and washer and dryer. I made full use of the kitchen and cooked dinner two of the three nights we were there. Not far away is a Co-op food store and some takeaway places. It was so nice to have a place to relax, where my daughter had a room to play in full of toys. She never even looked at her own toys or books while we were there, because there were so many great children's books. The living room was comfortable and we spent our evenings there after my daughter went to sleep. Bishopton is well situated with respect to the Erskine Bridge and Loch Lomond. It did not take any time to get back and forth and we never had to deal with any city traffic. We spent our time exploring the Trossachs and walking in the forests, throwing stones into the lake, and driving toward Argyll. Bishopton is very quiet and we like that a lot. We also went to Dumbarton Castle and we all liked it very much. We got a castle pass there and were able to fast track into Edinburgh, Urquhart, and Stirling Castles later in our trip. This apartment set the bar high for future rentals and made us realize that we will likely always seek out vacation rentals when traveling with our daughter or in a group. We have a friend that lives in Balloch who had dinner with us one night, and even he was impressed by the apartment. Quirks to look out for: I think a light bulb was burned out in the larger bathroom because it was very dim in there. The sun does not set until very late and the curtains do not block the light entirely, so we hung some blankets so that my daughter would not think it was still daytime and want to stay up. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. We were still talking about it long after left. I HIGHLY recommend this apartment, especially to any families traveling from far away, who do not want to be in the city and want space. I think we were smiling the entire time we were there.
