We spent one night at The Alamo as a stop off on the way home - we now regret this short stay as this is a great little place with friendly and very helpful hosts. A beautiful period building which owner Steve is lovingly and painstakingly decorating himself. Very family friendly, owners have excellent knowledge of local dining and make good recommendations (try the Wee Curry Shop around the corner). They also offer a DVD library and a fabulous breakfast. Cat lovers will adore 'Flash' who favours the chair in the entry hall. Will definitely return for a longer stay!

We stayed at the Alamo for 1 night on a recent tour around Scotland. The guest house was great value for money. We had a lovely double room with a newly refurbished en-suite shower room- the shower was really good. The comfy bed ensured a good nights sleep and this was followed by a continental style breakfast with some hot options such as scrambled eggs. The hotel is around a 20 minute walk from the city centre, but there are numerous local options for food and drink. Although parking is on-street we had no problem parking outside the guest house.

Excellent location - west side of downton Glasgow - next to Kelvingrove museum and park. Short walk to Byres rd and restaurants. Slightly longer walk to downtown and to bus station where you can hop on the airport bus. Accomodations and food very good as well. Excellent value.

I was attending a conference in the center of Glasgow, and the Alamo B&B was the perfect choice. The neighbourhood is wonderful, there are easy bus routes into the center, and the value easily beats any hotel in the city. The proximity to Glasgow University and Kelvingrove Hall (not to mention several cafes and pubs) makes the location perfect.

The room where we were assigned had a gorgeous bathroom which was updated and recently remodeled. Steve and his wife have beautiful antiques around the guest house. Breakfast was fine. Staff was friendly. The guest house is a walking distance to Glasgow University and the most important museums as Kelvingrove Museum.
