What can I say? What a fantastic place! I chanced upon this piece of Paridise purely by a bit of "googling" chance....And what a brilliant time we had there.

The room was excellent, The service was brilliant. The food was fab and we had a really lovely time there! The hotel is stunning! Fantastic period features, beautifully maintained and Steve and Emma and Christine are charm personified! They made us so welcome and nothing was too much trouble....Thank you for that!
And what a bargain!

If you are ever lucky enough to visit Glasgow this is the place to stay. It's situated bang opposite Kelvingrove park , the museum is definitely worth a visit . As are the pubs! We met loads of interesting characters!!!

I think you may have gathered that I loved the place! I will definitely be returning here

Keep up the good work You're doing a grand job!

I owned and personally operated an Inn for 27 years and I can say that the Alamo is absolutely the best! They didn't miss a thing: Beautiful, tastefully decorated B&B featuring a clean, fresh room with no chemical cover-up deodorizers, comfortable bed with reading lights on either side, a place to put toiletries in the loo, windows that open, self-operated heating/cooling system, fabulous breakfast, optional whirlpool tub, use of their computer, friendly/intelligent hosts, fuzzy cat, cute kid, charming father-in-law all centrally located.. What more could one ask?

This is a lovely house in an equally lovely area of the city. Room was very clean and comfortable, well furnished and warm. The welcome and hospitality were excellent. Only criticism I would have is that the "healthy" breakfast as described by others was a little disappointing; in a British B & B I would have expected the option of a cooked breakfast - maybe with some local specialities like kippers or porridge. I'd have been happy to pay a little extra for this.

Overall though for its location, quality of accommodation and welcome I would certainly recommend it.

We stayed at the Alamo Guest House over the Easter weekend and had a fantastic stay and will return on our next visit. Location is excellent for West End, museums and town centre is 5 mins on the bus.

Highlights:
* Very warm friendly welcome and goodbye from the owners Steve and Emma
* Family and homely feel of the property
* Large selection of dvds to choose from that can be watched in rooms
* Very clean and comfortable rooms
* Fresh and healthy breakfast (great scrambled eggs!)
* Lots of tourist info in the entrance

A credit to Glasgow!

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Alamo for 24 days with my 8 year old son, out of necessity on a visit back from Australia. I was heavily influenced by the reviews on this website, in particular the mentions of the owners being very people oriented and the place being excellent. I just knew it would be a great stay before I even arrived, and have to say it was everything and more. Most people are there for a few days and off, but even after 3 weeks we were sad to leave again, especially reiss who adored playing with Leon. Steve and Emma have done a fantastic job and it is clearly a labour of love for them(especially Steve's decor and the painstaking work on the ceilings alone!!!) The breakfast is ample and beautifully laid out and as for the location....... say no more as it is close to everything you need, even the open top bus stops 200m from the door.
The rooms ( and we went round them all for a tour over the weeks) are beautifully and tastefully redecorated with flatscreen tvs in most and dvd players with over 330 titles to choose from free of charge. This was a bonus as kept my son occupied when we had any downtime
Overall I have raved about this little diamond to everyone and it helped to really make our return to Glasgow a really memorable time. Good luck for the future Steve, Emma, little Leon and Flash the cat.
