I was booked by Meeting Makers, the company that worked with the recent Soroptimist International Convention which was held July 29 - August 2, 2007
I stayed at the Alamo Guest House from July 27-August 5, 2007.
This is a bed and breakfast facility. The managers Steve and Emma did a superb job of welcoming me and making my stay very enjoyable. They were both friendly and hospitable. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast served between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. was sumptious. They were also very helpful in getting me transportation when I needed it and in giving directions to places in Glasgow.
Alamo House is in a very good location as it is about 15-20 minutes from the Convention Centre, about 10 minutes or so from Kelvingrove Museum. Public transportation is a short block away and so are restaurants and eating places. The daily rate is also very reasonable. The service was incredible and I highly recommend it as a place to stay while visiting Glasgow.

This guesthouse is fantastic. The couple who own it are wonderful and the rooms are beautiful. Our bathroom had recently been remodeled and it was out of a style book. Steve and Emma made us feel like part of their family. The location is opposite Kelvingrove park and walking distance to Kelvingrove Museum (one of the best museums) as well as the University (well worth a visit). The Drawing Room Pub is a block away with the friendliest staff and great food. I will return here on any future visits. In fact, I am planing future visits just to revisit The Alamo

I went to a conference at the university of Glasgow and stayed there for four nights. The location is great, not too far from the city centre (it's a 20 minute walk, although there are plenty of buses close by) and close to the West end, which has many lively pubs and good restaurants. There is a lovely park in front of the guest house (take your tennis rackets), and just accross the park is the university. The owners are extremely nice, and the room very well kept. I stayed in a room with shared bathroom and shower, which I thought were very clean and therefore pleasant. There are also some ensuite rooms, which I guess are perfect for people who don't want to
share. To sum up, great place, and I have to say, for Glasgow, very cheap.

I stayed at this impeccable guest home recently and not only was my room extremely quiet, it was well decorated and the owners were superbly hospitable. Resting in a safe and upscale location right next to the Kelvingrove Museum, it is convenient to the city center as well as the University and the airport. It is perhaps the nicest place to stay for a true Guest home, Bed and Breakfast experience. Kindly, Leigh Ann Marshall, Florida

“Great”

We stayed just for one night and it was great! The location was right on Kelivingrove Park and close to many good and affordable places to eat. We found it very easy to take the bus in and out of town and it was not a long ride at all. Everything was kept very clean and our room was a good size with a sink. The owners were very kind and welcoming. I would recommend this place!
