I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my mum and my nana. We were over to see family and they booked this hotel for us as it was close to them.
We stayed in a triple room. The room was fairly small with an ensuite shower room. No bath. When I say shower it was more of a place to hose yourself down as the shower didn't attach to the wall. The water was also only luke warm. Unlike the majority of hotels, there was no shower gel or shampoo provided so bring your own! There were plenty of clean towels, it was clean and always roasting hot.
The room itself was in bad need of refurbishment but clean none the less. The lamp beside the bed didn't work and the TV was tiny, old and had no remote but the room was small enough that you could reach the TV from the end of the bed! There were tea/coffee making facilities but only 2 cups which was a but daft considering the room was for 3 people! There was a credit card swipe phone. I have to say that the beds were some of the most comfortable ones I've ever slept in though. I looked forward to getting in every night!
The bar in the hotel was well stocked and the prices not bad. There seemed to be alot of locals in it and I never experienced any noise while up in my room.
We also ate in the restaurant (the only part of the hotel that has up-to-date decor!) which was lovely. It only has a few tables which I like as there's nothing worse than a crowded restaurant. the food was lovely and piping hot and the prices weren't bad.
All in all this hotel wasn't bad. Not as posh as the website makes out nor is it a country club! The price reflected the hotel. We weren't looking for anything amazing. Just somewhere close to our relatives and somewhere to lay our heads at night. Handy for what we needed.
