Just spent the best New Year ever at the Cairngorm Hotel in Aviemore, had the best time ever.

The staff are fantastic, really helpful and friendly, Food is fabulous
and I,m sure even Gordon Ramsay would be more than happy
with the food and the service.

I visited Aviemore for New Year celebrations with my Partner Brian
and our wee dog Ruby, she loved it and was so happy staying
at her first ever hotel.

Would recommend Aviemore to anyone and especially the Cairngorm Hotel.

We had the most dreadful meal here. I ordered veal casarole and was given beef. The staff were very unhelpful and not at all interested in resolving the situation and insisted it was veal. My girlfriend was also disapointed with her tuna which had been cooked to within an inch of it's life due to it not being particularly fresh.

We stayed here for two evening towards the end of June and found it to be a really nice, cosy hotel.

I booked a quiet room, away from lifts & stairs and this is just what we got, also a nice friendly greeting at reception on arrival.

The room was everything you'd want, with all the extras, bath/shower gels, soaps, hairdryer and plenty of shortbread biscuits!

All the staff we encountered were really friendly and cheerful. The breakfast was one of the nicest we've had in a long time and the bar snacks were also good value for money.

We did the trip on the Strathspey Steam Train on one of the nights, with meal (Weds & Fri) and this we found to be a very pleasant experience, albeit you don't actually travel very far.

I couldn't recommend this hotel enough.

I booked this hotel after sampling the food they supply aboard the Strathspey Railway in 2005, as a Christmas treat for my wife and daughter. (We were booked aboard Santa's Express!!) .. I certainly wasn't disappointed, as the staff were excellent, the room (a huge corner turret) was brilliant and the food (room service) was fantastic. After a miserable stay in Kingussie at the Scot House Hotel in 2005 (see my review and the owner's flaming response where they accuse a 1 year old baby of being badly behaved) this was such a welcome change. It was lovely just being made to feel that your custom was actually wanted. My one gripe has nothing to do with the hotel; No Snow!!!!.. will be going back next year.... (if it snows!).. oh my daughter loved the stuffed Golden Eagle on the landing!
