My family and i booked this guest house as we were having to travel to Wick because of a family bereavement. A glance on the website suggested it was decent quality and right in the centre of town at a decent price. The reality was somewhat different. On arrival we were greeted by our host who in all fairness was a nice woman and her dog, again not that much of a problem. As we were guided to our rooms we were informed that they were still in the process of being cleaned. As we reached the top landing it was covered with various cleaning utensils and a hoover. I was shown into my single room and was gobsmacked. Three bits of wood with no doors that resembled a cupboard, a dirty table with two chairs and a shiny little digital t.v that seemed totally out of place. As i turned my attention to my bed the reality of the situation hit me. A ramshackle single bed which supported a disgusting old mattress not fit for the dog which seemed all too happy to run around my already dirty room. With no sheets or duvet covers which were still to be added. My family's rooms were no better, covered in cobwebs with dirty carpets and en-suite toilets stained with the defication of previous guests! We wasted no time in collectively grabbing our things and getting out of this hotel from hell as quickly as possible. The only thing that made it worse was the shock of the owners when we informed them that we would not be staying because it wasnt clean. Hopefully this review can give them the incentive to take some pride in the basic cleanliness which is an absolute fundamental of a decent guest house! In summary, DO NOT STAY HERE!

We are sorry that this family experienced problems with our B&B.Unfortuately; the single room was not up to standard and has now been refurbished with a new bed and wardrobe.

When the booking was made by telephone the price was reduced by £5.00 per person.
We were still in the process of cleaning the rooms when the family arrived a full 2 hours earlier than expected. If they had come at the appointed time, I am sure there would not have been any problems with cleanliness. Furthermore, if they had told us why they were unhappy with their rooms, we would have done our utmost to resolve the situation.
We have had a number of guests since this incident and all were happy with the rooms and the service they received
