We spent four fantastic days at Westbourne, Richard & Nan could not do enough for us. The little touches from the homemade shortbread & homebaking made our stay fantastic, the port & sherry nightcap just ended the day perfectly. We will definatly return.

Central location, excellent facilities and very friendly and accomodating hosts. Great place to stay in Inverness.

Spent 4 days in Inverness at Westbourne. The house is exceptionally clean and has an exellent location. Walking distance to Church st. and all the shopping. Located right on the Ness River. Parking was right out in front on the street. They provide a parking pass so it's free.

In the guest lounge, there is a computer with internet access, free of charge. They only ask to leave it free from 6pm to 11pm for business purposes.

The breakfasts were hardy although only served for a limited amount of time, so you can't sleep in too late and still get served. I think it is from 7:30am-8:30am. Plenty of tables though and the service was good.

I would definately stay here again!

If you are looking for reasonably-priced accomodation in a great location (right on the river), consider Westbourne Guest House. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in June, 2004, and found the owners to be extremely accomodating, friendly, and knowledgable about Inverness and the surrounding area. We had two different rooms when we were there because we had a 2-day side trip during our stay in the Inverness area; the first room, a double, was quite small, and the second, which I guess would be considered a triple because of the extra bed, was larger. Both were very pleasant with nice, adequate-sized bathrooms en suite. Breakfast included "full Highlanders" as well as cereals, fruit and yoghurt. The only drawback to the place, which may not be a concern to many travellers, is that there is no general public room or living-room type place as there is in some guest houses and B & B's, aside from the breakfast rooms. That said, we highly recommend the place and would stay there again. We loved Inverness as well.
