We stayed here in August and returned last week after a stressful relocation to Birmingham, my Wife bought tickets to fly between Birmingham & Inverness as a treat as I loved Culloden House when we were there before.
Well, what can I tell you, it's even better second time round, no word of a lie.
When we walked in the door the "Boss" was there and he knew me by name, how about that!! He remembered which room we had and even carried our cases to the room. When we got to the room he had put some champagne in with a card, what a guy!
We decided to order scones with cream and jam and sit by the window and look out at the gardener carefully cutting the front lawn whilst we sipped at our champagne, the gardener even looked up and took time to ask us if he was doing a good job, Ive never come across friendlier staff in any hotel, I challenge anyone to say different.
We had dinner, first class, now I am not up on my wines but a chap called Neil? helped me choose a stunning bottle of bordeaux, so good I bought a bottle to take home and got the name of the supplier!!
Retired to the bar after dinner to enjoy a whisky or two with the help of Steven, the boss!, who knows his stuff, I thought it was against the law to put water in your whisky but he says it needs a few drops to open it up, well I aint arguing with him, he spent 30 minutes telling us all about scotch, my wife kept asking questions to see if she could catch him out, no such joy. It did put a dent in my wallet though, I had one whisky that cost me £45.00!
In the morning we were late for breakfast, not a problem to the staff, they looked after us like royalty and I have to say its the best poached haddock Ive ever come across, not bright yellow like you buy in the shop.
Keep it up guys, you ARE the best, YOU guys put 6 star hotels to shame.
