Spent one night at the Culloden House near Inverness.
We were welcomed at the door before being taken inside the impressive house. Every room was unique and individual, from the plaster in the lounge and dining room to the masculine whisky bar with it's leather sofas and great selection of whiskies, not that I sampled any.
It turns out that Tony Blair slept in "our" room and reception boasts two letters from the man himself.
Dinner was very good, as was our breakfast, no substitute for the real tea that they serve and the porrage was first rate.
On checking out our car was taken to the door, bags packed away and photo taken on the front steps, all the little extras that you dont get at a chain hotel, the staff made us feel like we were king and queen for a day.
