We (wife and baby son) spent a night here in mid July. We were in the new annexe – the Clan McPherson Suite or suchlike. It was nice enough – large and clean with modern furnishings. Nice, bright spacious bathroom. Nothing to write home about.
Also, the hotel has a lovely garden setting.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful. No complaints there.

However what let this hotel down in a BIG WAY was the food – both breakfast and evening meal. Both were very poor. Poorly prepared, poorly presented and tasteless. Although the meals sounded great on the menu, the actual delivery was VERY disappointing. One can’t help feel that the old business idiom KISS (keep it simple, stupid!) would have stood this hotel in good stead. Clearly the chef was out of his / her depth.

The fact that the breakfast was so poor as well (not hot, undercooked, poorly presented, cold (!) toast!!) hints at the overall poor quality here.

A hotel that looks as good as this, and which charges £140 per night (!!) really ought to be doing A LOT better in the catering department.

On this basis alone, I will NOT be recommending the Lochardil House.

Visited this site in June with a older relation, picked two rooms next to each other in the new build part of the hotel. Both had patio doors and you could sit outside your room getting the sun.

Stayed for 4 nights, the rooms are very clean & tidy with a very large bathroom.

Breakfast is brilliant the black pudding is very tasty, comes from a butcher for sure better than standard stuff also dinner was good. Overall the service was good however during dinner times could take a bit of time between entrees.

Would go back there if i am ever in the area again!!!

Ample parking, its a little bit out of town so really only for visitors with a car will find it fine. otherwise its a long walk or lots of taxis!!

We stayed at Lochardil House for two nights and were totally taken with the property. We were in the older original building with it's old world ambiance. The rooms were the best appointed we had in Scotland with all the little touches like tea service, iron and ironing board, trouser press and a fan. The rooms were also spacious and well decorated with a very nice bathroom.

Staff were simply excellent and offered assistance with directions, maps and mailing my post cards. They were eager to make our stay pleasant.

The dining room, as stated before, is the glass conservatory overlooking the gardens which offers a comfortable setting and very good meals. The bar pours a good cocktail as well.

All in all, it is a wonderful place to stay in a quiet area and only a $10 cab ride to city center.

Second time i've stayed here. its a nice hotel and very old. classy. the evening meal was nice but a bit boring. breaky was good quality. but enough eltonjohn piped music ! of all the great highland music, surely there is something more appropriate.

overall - well worth the money and good vibe.
