I stayed at the Graigmonie at the weekend and was excited when i heard that there was a swimming pool, sauna etc.... When i got there the entrance is very grand and feels like a proper highlands hotel - all wood panneling etc... When we got up to the room, however, we found a very dated decorated room which was very small. I understand that hotels have to work within the confines of their 4 walls but just a small bit of investment would go a long way in the hotel. The decoration was like something from the 80's the bathrooms were old and tired and the rooms were really small. There were no real added extras - shampoos etc... and i had to hunt for the kettle. The hotal bar closes at 12.00 and there is no room service to note. The pool was very poor - very small and the whole leisure area is very dated - feels like something from an 80's comedy set - all neon lights and pastel colours.
The staff did their best but all seemed a little down and lacked any real point to note. The breakfast was nice but at 9.30 on a Sunday it was all nearly gone with little replenishment.
I don't think it is the actual hotels fault- the people who own it should just invest some money on renovating it to meet the expectations of todays travellers.
The location is great - if you stay hre and it feels like you are a long way from town - just walk right out of hotel and take first right and a 10 minute walk brings you into the town centre.
