We stayed at the Maple Court for two nights at the end of September.

The room is large, and very clean. The furnishings are a bit cheap, and the bed is just okay. Sheets and towels were clean and average. The bathroom was very nice.

The location was fantastic - a very nice 5-10 minute walk from "downtown" Inverness, along the river. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance.

The staff were great, and the morning breakfast was great. The chef will make you whatever you'd like for breakfast.

I would stay there again.

l was very dissapointed with the hotel after reading the website the only saving grace was the breakfast. The beds were very poor and so was the restaurant the waiter brought a wine bucket with a filthy dirty cloth around the bottle after paying a lot for the meal l was dissapointed.

We thank you for your comments, however we have no record of your complaint or your stay at the Maple Court

We strive to provide the best of service and without guests telling us that they are unhappy this is an impossible Job.

With regards to beds they were replaced 2 seasons ago and they all have an orthapedic matress? we run at 98%+ occupancy May - September with very little complaints. With regards to your meal yet again we have no record of having received your comments.

Can I suggest in future if you experience anything you find below par,a quiet word with a staff member or manager and you will find that any problems will be addressed in a proffessional and friendly manner without delay!! This applies to most hotels anywhere!! On doing this if you get no response then ok. Post a complaint!!

“Great Place!!!”

Maple Court Hotel

31 Aug 2007

Myself and 2 cousins stayed at this hotel from Aug 13-17th and enjoyed every minute of our stay. I did check out tripadvisor before I booked but since most of the reviews were favourable, we figured we would give it a try. Yes, I can see where some people would think that its decore is kind of old fashioned but I thought that gave the place some character and I liked the atmosphere. Just as important was that the room was clean, was large enough that the three of us were not tripping over each other and we were comfortable. The Maple Court is located in a quiet area, on the River Ness and is within walking distance (about 10 minutes) into the center where the information center and other attractions can be found. I cannot say enough good things about the staff who were very friendly, helpful and very prompt with services if we needed anything. The staff deserves a raise!!! As for the food, the price was certainly competitive, and in most cases better than a few restaurants we ate at in town. The portions were very generous and it was without a doubt some of the best food we ate during our entire 3 week vacation (thanks from Sherry for the haggis the cook made especially for her for breakfast, thanks to Tina for outdoing herself with the dessert, thanks to Damien for the great chats and for mixing great drinks and thanks to the rest of the staff (I do not know their names) for such outstanding service). If I had to find anything to complain about it would be that the food was so good that we all ate too much.....but I guess I cannot blame that not the Maple Court so I will chalk it up to overindulgence on our part and the fact that we all enjoyed eating!!! I would certainly recommend this hotel and we are in fact planning to stay there again on our next trip to Inverness. Cudos to the staff and a job well done!! Looking forward ot our next stay!!!

What others have seen in this place, we did not. An adequate place to stay a night, but not much else. We made the mistake of eating dinner there the first night and were sorely disappointed. The wine was good but the food was not. The walls were so thin that when our neighbor experienced flatulence, we shared in the experience. At GBP 66.00, this was not a real bargain. While the hotel is within walking distance of downtown, I'd have preferred to stay somewhere else.

My girlfriend and I have just returned from a short break at the Maple Court Hotel in Inverness.

We booked the hotel after reading the glowing reviews on this website.

First impressions of the hotel were good, it looks really nice from the outside and is in a good location beside the river.

However, when we went inside we were both a bit disappointed. The decor is a bit shabby and could definitely use a revamp.

Our room was a decent size and was clean enough. The furniture seemed a bit cheap and worn. The hotel says that the furniture is only a few years old - well, it looks older. They've also scrimped on quality. With only 9 rooms in the hotel, and at the prices they charge per night, I'd expect the rooms to be a bit more classy. As it stands, they're functional but nothing more.

Oh, and before i forget, who in their right minds decides to put carpet in a bathroom?? Note to the person who thought that was a good idea - water, pee etc. will get into the carpet and is difficult to get out. The carpet will go damp. It will smell. Of mould. And pee.

Anyway, the staff were pleasant and courteous. If you decide to go to the Maple Court, you'll have no problems with them.

So, overall, i'd describe this hotel as functional but nothing more. Definitely not worth the going rate. I'm at a loss as to how other reviewers could possibly give this hotel 5/5. Seriously, do they live in caves or something? To give a hotel 5/5, I'd expect trained monkey butlers to attend to my every whim whilst i sit in a gold-plated bath. I wouldn't expect a hotel that looks and smells rather fusty.
