Once again in Inverness I stayed at Ardconnel House where I have stayed on a number of occations before. The guest house have a great location - near city centre and the owners really do everything possible to make your stay one to remember. The wonderful breakfast with home made bread, muffins and scones, freshly made fruit salad and the crispy bacon always makes me wanna stay much longer and I the hospitality of the place is outstanding! Thank you Liz and John! I can recommend this Guest House to everyone!

I stayed with John and Liz at Ardconnel House for a weekend and was totally spoilt by their service. The warm welcome I received and information they gave me regarding the area and the "must do's" was second to none.

The hotel itself is immaculate and full of wonderful pieces of china they have collected over the years as well as a mountain of books on Scottish history and culture.

The rooms are spotless with lovely bed linen and even my very own "teddy bear" to cuddle at night! What more could you ask for.

It is only a couple of minutes walk into the main High Street in the town but far enough away that you don't hear any noise and have a peaceful night's sleep.

I was even taken out by the owner to the Culloden Battlefield and visitor's centre and I really couldn't have been looked after better.

Breakfast is fantastic with fabulous fresh fruit salads, wonderful crispy croissants (just like some I have sampled in France) as well as the traditional Scottish Full Breakfast with some of the best Black Pudding I have ever tasted which they buy from Stornaway. There was also some lovely classical music playing in the background which just made it extra special.

If you are thinking of visiting Inverness then I would highly recommend that you stay with Liz and John here as they are two of the loveliest people you will ever meet. This is what I call real customer service!

Can't wait to go back again.

Traveling to another country for the first time can lead you to anticipate feelings of uneasyness that you may encounter the discomfort of unfamiliar territory. Staying at Ardconnel House gave a much needed sense of warmth and welcome. John and Elizabeth made the experience so delightful that you feel like you are staying with friends. They were attentive to every need, want, or question and helped in any way possible. In some cases, above and beyong what you'd expect. (Example: Upon arrival, my only means of communication to home was my laptop. John went above and beyond to try to figure out why I was having problems connecting to their network, and even offered to let me use their computer if needed. Upon our last morning there, we had slept in and missed breakfast. Elizabeth greeted us with breakfast "to go". A consideration a lot of people wouldn't bother with. It's these things that meant a lot and made the experience so much better than expected.) The house is beautiful, comfortable, and immaculately clean. The breakfasts are wonderful and filling. The greatest part was the guest living area with the comfy sofas and chairs where you could just sit back and watch movies or talk. I highly recommend Ardconnel House!!! It was well worth the long trip up the stairs! LOL

Our first trip to Scotland and how elated we were to find John & Liz so warm and inviting, and their home so beautifully decorated and spotless! Our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer as there is SO much to do in Inverness and the surrounding area! Ardconnel House is steps away from the shopping/historic district, yet quiet for a good night's sleep. Took the Over the Sea to Skye tour (FANTASTIC!!) and John and Liz made sure our arrangements were confirmed and directed us, clearly, to the check-in office. John's dinner recommendations proved right on and we had a memorable meal at Girvan's! Breakfast was absolutely delicious with homemade baked goods, fluffiest eggs ever eaten, great sausage, fresh fruit, cheeses, yogurts and cereals. We will return when we make our trek back to Scotland!

Ardconnel House was fabulous!!! John and Elizabeth were so friendly!!! The house was gorgeous and emaculately clean! Service was excellent! The food was delicious and their sitting room (open to guests) was awesome to include a comfy couch and chairs, TV, plenty of DVD's to choose from, informational pamphlets, phone, and a lovely view outside!!! Would definitely recommend this B & B! When I come back to the Highlands (and I know I will!!!), I will definitely stay again at Ardconnel House!! Thanks so much John and Elizabeth for making my stay wonderful!!!! CHEERS! Tess Looney
