We don't tend to stay in B&Bs as we generally find them quite old-fashioned, both in decoration and the rules and regulations that go with your stay!
Avalon has completely changed our view. It was more like a mini hotel, with all the luxuries you would expect (toiletries/flat screen TV with Freeview/modern deco/fluffy towels etc etc). Where a hotel can sometimes seem impersonal, Avalon is completely the opposite without being intrusive. Jo and Brad were so welcoming and helpful throughout our 4 day stay - telling us the best places to go both day and night - they took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and were able to direct us to places that they knew we would enjoy as well as tell us where to avoid - who needs Tourist Information when you have these two??!!
The breakfasts were outstanding, all cooked to order and with so much choice - nothing seemed too much for them.
All in all, our trip was perfect. I don't know that we would want to try another B&B as I don't think they could ever live up to the Avalon. We are definitely looking to come back to Inverness and we will WITHOUT A DOUBT be booking the Avalon again - thank you Jo and Brad and hello Branston!!!!

My Partner and I have just returned to Lincoln after a 5 day break in Inverness and the Avalon Guest House. The hosts Jo & Bradley were eager to welcome us, and share all their local knowledge in an effort to make our stay a memorable one.

Our room was the only room that did not have a En Suite - our private bathroom was just across the hall. We were a little apprehensive about the privacy factor, but we need not have worried as we were in a quiet part of the building.

Our room was spotlessly clean and the same could be said of the bathroom. Jo and Bradley have taken a lot of time to add all those little homely touches which makes their establishment so inviting.

The breakfast table offered an abundance of fare including fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurts, cheeses, grapefruit, prunes, muesli, cereal bars, croissant, toast, and any combination of the full English breakfast all superbly cooked, fresh and to your liking. All this can be washed down with fruit juices, tea or coffee.

In conclusion, it is evident that Jo & Bradley work extremely hard to achieve a standard of quality and deliver it in such a way that they make you feel special. They both deserve every success for the future, and we have no hesitation in recommending the Avalon to our friends and any readers of ‘Trip Advisor’.

Thank you - Jo, Brad and Branston (the dog).

We arrived on Friday 18th April with a party of 6. The hosts Jo and Bradley were very friendly, full of advice and tips for our stay. As we were there to celebrate a birthday and a cake was presented on arrival. Jo and Bradley are both very nice people who will do anything to help make your stay memorable. Even getting the boxing for Saturday nights fight.
The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Freeview TV was very handy; we could sit and relax after our long walks along the river. Avlon is about a 5-10 min walk in to town but if you turn right at the first road you come along you get to walk right along the river and have fantastic views of the castle (A cab is about £5 in to town, but not worth getting as you will miss the wonderful walks).
Jo has menus for most the restaurants in town but we recommend you book as we never go to eat in the little Italian on the river fount.
We had a wonderful stay and did not want to leave. We will be back to Inverness and stay with Jo and Bradley again (if they will have us!)

We have just returned from a three day break in Inverness staying at The Avalon Guest House. Our room was immaculate, extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated. Jo and Bradley were the perfect hosts with nothing being too much trouble. Add to that the wonderful breakfast and what more could you ask for!
Will certainly recommend it to all our friends.
