The entrance to the hotel if not the most obvious. After a narrow and windy slope, I arrived at the hotel. The surrounding of the hotel is actually very nice. The lawn was neatly cut, and flowers were planted. The parking lot is a nice size. The host Michael opened the door for me. After registration and payment, he took my luggage and directed me to the room. The room is actually like a small suite, with a big sitting area. Everything is very tidy and clean. Decoration is cozy enough. There is even a small electrical fireplace in the sitting area. Breakfast area is big.

My mother, brother, and sister had the great fortune of staying at this absolutely charming hotel during our two week trip to Scotland this July. It is so well hidden from the road it felt like we were staying far out of the city. We received such a warm and friendly greeting upon arrival. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the food was wonderful. (...and we enjoyed watching the badgers snack on scraps of food below from our second story window!) We only stayed for two nights, but wished very much that we had been able to stay longer. I can't wait to go back and enjoy a stay with my husband sometime. Thank you so much Michael, for everything! We couldn't have asked for better! -Faye R. / USA

“Not recommended for a New Year Break”

Glendruidh House

3 Jan 2006

Just stayed at Glen Druidh house Hotel for a New Year break. Hotel is spotlessly clean and room was lovely but with a sofa and chairs so small an average sized person would barely be able to fit on them and was therefore not at all comfortable. Food is freshly cooked and tasty but quite overpriced at £33 for dinner with a very limited menu. We ordered what we wanted for dinner at 6.30pm (understandable for a small place) and we were told dinner would be served at 8 o'clock PROMPT.
Breakfast(even on New Years Day) was between 8-9am !!! - a bit unfair if you intended to stay up to see in the New Year. We went down for breakfast at 8.55 and the owner seemed not too pleased we left it until last minute and stood in the corner of the dining room while we ate just waiting to take the plates away when we were finished! We felt we had to talk in whispers. We were going out for the day but were told we would need to be back at 6.30 to order that nights dinner. When we asked if we could just order it after breakfast we were told that they didn't know what it was then!! A bit strange as even if everything is cooked fresh they must know in the morning what is for dinner!! There is a small bar also rather overpriced. We would not recommend this hotel for a New Year Break as it is very very quiet and we felt quite uncomfortable and not very welcome at all. Disappointing to say the least.

“A wonderful find.”

Glendruidh House

1 May 2005

We've just sadly come to the end of our stay at Glendruidh. Immaculatly clean, friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Hot milk brought to the room late at night for our coffee. Although on the outskirts of Inverness the hotel is cut off from the town by their gardens and woods. We sat one night in our room with the lights off and for 45 minutes watched captivated as three badgers playing on the lawn outside our window. Glendruidh offers honest food!! Everything tasted fresh and clean and wholesome. Just the best three days we've spent away for a long time.
