The Highland hotel has been taken over by Lochs & Glens coach tour company. It has been totally refurbished. The bedrooms are very comfortable and as far as I could tell all the rooms had new beds. The bathrooms are all new and modern complete with fluffy white towels.
The food is of acceptable standard and you have a choice at every course.
The drinks at the bar and in the restaurant are reasonably priced.
The only thing that lets it down is the quality, or lack of it, of the tea and coffee that is served after dinner, it is quite dreadful.
On our visit in February there were two lovely open fires, very cosy.
The views from the front bedrooms and the reception area are quite stunning especially if you have been lucky enough to have lovely weather, which we had.
It is only a short walk downhill into the centre of Fort William but could be quite hard work coming back uphill especially if you are elderly or infirm. The solution is to get a taxi back which were quite reasonable
We found it exceptional value, £137 for half board, especially when it includes coach travel from your local area plus a trip out every day, just not worth taking your car.
