Napier Bed & Breakfast is an awesome place and must rate as the best guest house I've ever stayed in. It's a Victorian mansion with views over-looking the beach (which is about 50 metres away). From outside it looked a bit over-whelming but as soon as we were in we were made to feel at home. Roaring fire in the huge hall. We were offered a glass of port and whisky. Shown upstairs, the bedrooms are huge with beautiful furniture and real Victorian bathrooms with fireplaces in them! The bath must have been 6 ft. Warm scones on the tea-tray and fresh milk. I was just in ecstasy. All the rooms had servant bells which the owner told us to use if we needed her but we never dared. Breakfast in a giant dining-room. We weren't at the 10ft mahogany table but at a smaller one in the window, over-looking the sea. Breakfast was huge - toast & their own honey, fruit, porrige, cooked Scottish breakfast. And to top it off, saw a red squirrel in the garden.
It was so good we seriously thought of changing our plan to go back to Edinburgh that day.
