This hotel has got to be the worst we have ever stayed in. With a name like 'Quality' and a claim to be 'Perth’s premier hotel' you might expect it to be a decent hotel, which it probably was when it was built a 100years ago. When we arrived it was obvious that the publicity photos had more than flattered it - the hotel is decrepit inside and out. We had a Premier room but if this was meant to be one of the better ones, God only knows how bad the standard rooms are. The hot water tap on the basin didn't work ('no maintenace man until Monday', this was Saturday night), the toilet seat kept falling off and the toilet bowl was just sat on the floor with no fixings. Breakfast was a disater ; most plates were dirty (the waitress just put these to the bottom of the pile!), no organge juice ('we have run out' also they had 'run out' the day after), the hot buffet was at best warm and if you turned your back, at least one of the dishes had run out, tea and coffee were served from thermos flasks etc etc. When we got back to our room on Sunday night, it was just as we had left it in the morning - no housekeeping at all! I could go on but I think you get the drift - yuk! The only good point is that the staff where polite and helpful (in as far as they could be) when we complained.

“Is This Not Perth Prison”

Quality Hotel Station Perth

9 Jul 2008

Took my mum here for a birthday treat, this was a total nighmare.were allocated a room on the top floor, nothing like the pictures you see on internet, went to complain and was told that this was one of the best rooms in the hotel,it was the honeymoon suite.thought they were jokeing us.The place is falling apart cracked ceilings and roofs.we had breakfast in the morning which was terrible, tables werent even cleared for the next people sitting down we had to ask for our table to be cleaned and fresh cups and cutlery, they were not helpful and didnt care.the back garden is well over gown and nothing like what you see on the internet either, ithink the health and safety should be looking into this. thought when we were walking in the hotel that we were going to go through the floor boards.Think perth prison would have been better,This hotel is definately a no no,and sould state enter at your own risk,Wouldnt go back here if i was paid too,Such a shame meant to be a birthday treat for my mum,i felt embarassed for her.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel.... Never again
Arrived on Friday no problem at check in,was allocated room 76 second floor I have never seen a hotel room so small ever the toilet was a disgrace in need of a full refurb and so small it had a mini sink no room for a standard size one.It had no wardrobe just a tall unit kind of thing with space for 4 hangers we hung our coats up and that was it full. The wall light above the bed where I had to sleep was covered in spiders webbs
Our friends were allocated a room on the 1st floor their room was around three times the size of ours but we paid the same rate as them
We complained about the spiders webb and was told it would be taken care of...It was still there when we left on the Sunday!!
On Saturday evening we had a visitor as we got dressed to go out .A man was given a key to our room by the girl on reception should have been for room 67.I asked for the manager and was told the room had been double booked at that point another couple arrived to complain ...they had been given a room that had not been made up ...that was the second room they were allocated the first one still had a guest in it!!
Another man appeared and seem to take control the couple were given a 3rd room...He then told me that our room was not double booked it was the girl on reception had miread the key number she gave out 76 instead of 67
So that made it ok then did it?
On our way out we passed room 67 poor man was sitting on end of bed guess what ...the room had not been made up
On the morning of our departure we complained again and were given a full refund
shame they have let this hotel get so run down
The staff done their best to handle all the complaints we heard when we were there
Sorry i will not be returning to any Quality Hotel in a hurry.

We've just returned from a one night stay following a visit to relatives. The proximinity to the train station was the main reason for the choice and by and large I have to say the only plus point it has.

On arrival, we were refused an early check in which we could live with. We dropped our bag off and went out for a couple of hours. On return we had to change rooms as the first was a smoking room when a non-smoking had been requested.

The second room was perfectly adequate for the price paid (60 pounds B&B) but was a bit tatty and tired and in need of a bit of love and attention (Room 42). The mirror by the door was absolutely filthy - it looked like someone had sneezed over it and had never been cleaned! The bath was in need of being re-enameled but everything worked fine.

The bar was a complete rip off and there was absolutely no atmosphere. We were charged just under 8 pounds for a double JD & Coke and half a beer. A swift walk into town (about 10 mins to the river) resolved that particular problem.

We found the staff apathetic rather than particularly rude. It was annoying whilst trying to enjoy our drink (!) that there was a continual stream of non-uniformed staff wandering through reception/bar area. This combined with on-duty staff pushing noisy recycling/kitchen trolleys through really topped things off.

We dined out but did have breakfast in the morning. It was OK but nothing special sadly - certainly not the traditional scottish brekkie we've experienced at hotels in Scotland before.

All in all, very average - if I was writing a school report it would probably read: Needs to pay more attention, could do much, much better..........

“Not the best or worst”

Quality Hotel Station Perth

5 Jun 2008

We arrived on the saturday night and there was a large queue, there was a foreign girl on reception who didnt seem to understand what was happening. she called her boss at home who arrived within minutes to assist. We eventually got checked into our room. We went to our room and found that the room was dirty. We went back to reception and spoke to the deputy manager who explained the hotel was full and could not move us. I explained that I was not prepared to stay there and his answer was I have had enough of the [--] in here I cant do anything to change it sorry. We went back to our room to pack and my partner was very angry so he called reception and spoke to Lindsey who explained she wasnt aware of the situation but would be up to our room to check it. She arrived at the room and agreed that it was not up to standard and assured she would speak to the cleaners. She then gave us a key for another room which she had checked and said was a clean and comfortable room which I can only agree she was correct.

We then went for dinner but were told there is a group of 30 in just now so we cant serve you for 45 minutes. We decided we would complain yet again about the service to be faced yet again with the deputy manager who informed us that if we wanted to be served quickly and professionally we had to wait for the 5 waitresses who were serving the group of 30. We walked past reception and Lindsey asked if we were not having dinner and once we explained what had happened she had us a table with a waitress within minutes.

The bar was not as clean as you would have expected with a barman more interested in going for cigarettes. The bar was quite busy with young lads. After talking to them they were telling us of all their problems over the weeks they had been staying and surprise surprise they had the same problems as us. They actually commented that if you wanted any customer service or had any problems the only person who helped or seemed to care was Lindsey and that her days off were met with managers saying wait for Lindsey to return and she will fix it. Can I just say that if it hadnt been for this young girl I think you would have no customers. She is a fantastically friendly and polite young girl who goes out of her way to assist and I personally think she is wasted in a hotel of that standard.

We were informed on check out by Lindsey that the cleaners had passed on their apologies and that she would ensure this would never happen again which was a nice gesture as normally you complain and never hear the outcome. I would give this hotel a chance but if your going just make sure you check your room and try not to be there when there is a group in.

All in all this would be a nice hotel if money was spent on the rooms and restaurant but it does depend what room you get or maybe who cleaned it but our second room was fantastic.

I would reccommend this hotel still as I think it is just having teething problems (albeit a few years too late)
