I stayed at the Ramada for 3 nights over the bank holiday. I didn't have my car with me luckily, as the car park was pretty small, but better than offering no parking at all i suppose! There were lots of bikes filling it as it was the first weekend of the biker season, so lots of shiny bikes to have a look at when I was there!
I checked in at about 8.30pm, straightforward check in. I was given a double instead of twin, but this didnt matter as I was staying on my own. Theres no single rooms, so I took a twin and had a friend for dinner as it was included in the deal I had. The beds are comfortable, and room pretty good for the price I paid. The bathroom wasnt great though, the tap on the sink just lifted off when you went to turn in it. The shower was ok, but wouldnt dream of having a bath in there! Grouting on the tiles was filthy, which is a shame, as it wouldnt take much to give it a good clean. The bottom of the bath was yellow (meant to be white!) but the toilet and sink were clean and enough space.
Rooms were very warm even though I had window open all weekend, the windows quite small and doesnt open very far. Nice flat screen TV with a few freeview channels, such as ITV2 and sky news, and pay per view movies and pay as you go internet. I wasnt too bothered about these as I wouldnt use them anyway, so would rather pay less for the room than have them incuded in the price! As for noise, yes you can hear people outside at night, but thats to be expected due to the central location. You can really hear people in the next room, even when they put a plug in the socket, have a shower ar talk. Wasnt a major problem to me, but i suppose thats luck of the draw whether you have noisy people in the next room! I was in an end room on the first floor, so was only one room to the side of me anyway
Ate in the restaurant one night and the food was nice. Service staff were very friendly, but service was extremely slow! Luckily we werent in a hurry, so was nice just to relax and have a drink, but as time was getting on we didnt bother with dessert as we'd have been there all night! Breakfast was lovely, but again, service could be slow, I had to ask twice for coffee and toast and waited 25 mins to actually get cold toast. To be fair though, this only happened one out of the three mornings and they did apologise.
The public areas are all reasonable and its in a lovely setting and fab location, right in the town centre. Main pubs and bars are 2 mins walk, as is the cinema and shops.
Overall, it wasnt the best hotel ever, but I got a really good deal on the ramada jarvis site, and for what I paid, it was more than reasonable. If I go to Perth again I would definitely consider staying there again. A good 3 star hotel that could be excellent with a small amount of effort
