I regularly visit Perth and prefer to stay at the Ramada . The rooms have recently been refurbished, it has good food and a comfortable lounge and the staff are friendly and helpful. It is well located with main shops and restaurants only a few minutes walk.

We've just returned from a two night break and have to say we were very happy with this hotel. Having stayed at a couple of Ramada's and had differing experiences I was a little concerned at what we'd get. I booked through an agent for DBB for 2 nights for 2 couples myself and my friend had booked a days fishing just outside Perth and our wives wanted somewhere city centre so that they could shop and return to the hotel when they'd had enough.
The location of this hotel was excellent in that respect. It was a 15th Century Mill with a waterwheel in the reception and the mill race with flowing water visable through numerous glass panels.
Our rooms had obviously been refurbed with large beds and flat screen TV's. The bathrooms must have been left out of the program which is a pitty, as although clean it looked dated.
The food was excellent with a generous allowance if you wanted A la Carte.
Overall we would definately return

“Tired, jaded and a bit threadbare...”

Ramada Perth

When you see the name Ramada in the States, it actually stnds for quality and value. Status wise, its up there with Marriot, Hilton and the rest.

Well, in Perth, this is sadly not the case.

Cold, single glazed rooms. No lift, not that that bothered me personally, but for those not as sprightly as some this could be an issue.

The hotel is badly in need of a refurb. Twee, dingy and totally at odds with the attractive exterior. Flat beer, but very attentive and friendly staff.

There is actually a sign on one the walls on the stairs asking patrons to bear with them during their refurbishment, however, there was no evidence of such that I saw and if that's a renovation done and the sign an oversight, then I'm Paris Hilton.

At £59 for the night, reasonable value, but having put 400+ miles under the wheels that day and the prospect of the same the next, a wee bit more money for something a bit more luxurious would gladly have been paid. Not a patch on the Ramada in Belfast (see previous review).

It still staggers me that a chain can have so many inconsistencies in quality form hotel to hotel.

Not bad, but will look elsewhere next time.

My wife and I, booked in to this hotel on "chance" for one night, bed & breakfast, whilst on a touring holiday. The reception staff were very efficient but with no sense of humour. Paid £110.00 for the room up front, with Bank Card. Bedroom No. 204 which we were allocated, was smallish, dark & dingy. With all dark furnishings to match, and a small window, overlooking other roofs & properties, it felt rather like a prison cell might feel; claustrophobic. Two hard chairs, so there was no comfortable place to sit & watch T.V. in the bedroom. The bath with overhead shower, in the en-suite area was nothing short of absolutely disgusting. Most of the grout between the tiles behind the shower feeder pipe and around the bath, was coverd in black mould, which had been there for a very long time. All around the top edge of the bath adjoining the tiles, and in the corners, was black mould of the same vintage growing in abundance. Where a 2 inch piece of the bath beading was missing, grew the champion of shiny black moulds, which looked a right sticky mess. Clearly, no attempt had ever been made to remove or clean up, this growing fungus.

The extractor fan in the bathroom, looked like some kind of dirty woolen ball attached to the wall, and was packed with filth and fluff. Hadn't been cleaned since goodness knows when.

I was horrified with what I saw.. Is that what the travelling public have to pay £110.00 per night for? I thought not. On my return to the reception I informed the staff very politely, that I was leaving and why. Again, the staff were efficient, and offered me another room, which I declined, and I had my money refunded. Although the staff were efficient, they were not in the least bit perturbed by the situation. They are probably used to it !!

This hotel was a real disappointment. In the reception area, first impressions are good, but the bedroom area was awful.

As an accommodation provider myself, I was horrified to see the dreadful standard of cleanliness in this place, and would never consider staying there. There is absolutely no excuse of any kind for this way below par level of housekeeping. How do they get away with this negligence, and at the price they charge?

The management here want to get a grip, and get their premisis up to an acceptable standard of cleanliness forthwith. It is not difficult to do, but it is essential.

“Brilliant location and value”

Ramada Perth

I booked this two weeks in advance with active hotels. Got a perfectly adequate double room for just £40 a night, the week before christmas. Although the room wasn'tnyhing special,at ths price I could not fault it. Breakfast was not included but it was easy to find a close-by cafe to provide this for a few pounds. The hotel very close the centre of perth but in a quiet location.

Perth is so beautiful at all times of year, but the crispness of the air and beauty of the river made this a great place for a weekend.

Free parking, although not many spaces
