Please beware, we payed over £100 for a room with a jacuzzi , that was not in fact a jacuzzi, i can only say that if you require to feel like you are being boiled and bubbled like potatoes in a pan then this is for you, one of the buttons was broken and the shower seems to only produce hot water in the evenings not in the morning. Room was nice enough. Award winning restaurant was not great either, really poor for the awards stated, i really felt ripped off. Great night out in perth, shame about hotel.

It is great to return to this hotel, this time we booked a 2 night break at £159.00 per person DBB. The food both at the hotel and the restaurant they operate in town is wonderful. The staff are great both out front and in the kitchen. For us cooked breakfast is a real treat with Smoked Salmon and Scrambled eggs a highlight! We will return again soon.

Stayed one night, as part of a business trip to the area. The hotel is tidy enough, but I am not sure about STB 4 and AA 3 * ratings. Although I had booked a single room, I was given a beautifully clean small double, which was most acceptable. However, I think a couple would have found the accommodation and the bed very cramped. On the other hand, the bathroom was nearly as big as the bedroom and, again, spotless. Perhaps a weakness of older, less well insulated buildings, but TV noise was noticeable from a number of adjacent suites.

Free secure Wi-fi throughout the hotel and decent cable TV were amongst what attracted me to the Parklands in the first place and both worked well. I was also anticipating good eating, as much is made of the two restaurants and cuisine.

However, I was late arriving and, as expected, the restaurants were closed for the night. Nevertheless, given the perceived standard of this hotel, I was looking forward to a decent sandwich from Room Service. The night manager was pleasant enough and offered a range of fillings for my "sarnie". I was bitterly disappointed to receive two rounds of thin-sliced white bread, sparsely filled with watery, wafer-thin ham.....not exactly the hand carved gammon on crusty wholemeal I had expected. Furthermore, so far as I could see, there were no tea or coffee making facilities in my room.

Breakfast was a major disappointment, there was little left in the way of fresh fruit midway through the sitting and the full Scottish was tragically overcooked.

My colleagues and I stayed on for lunch, but again the fare was very average. Nice tasty local steak, but the roast (I think) potatoes again suffered from overcooking.

The staff were pretty good, although I had to smile when presented with the credit card reader together with an invitation to add a gratuity to what was a bill comprising grossly over-inflated prices for just about everything.

I have no problems with paying well for value for money. I believe this hotel has the same ratings as the Royal Marine at Brora, which is more expensive, but in a different league altogether.

I read somewhere that the Parklands is a B&B pretending to be a hotel. To my way of thinking, it does appear to fall between two stools. On the one hand very tidy and homely, but on the other not really delivering on that all important factor….quality!!

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the end of feb.
the room was the" city of perth" suite, it had everything you could want tv ,dvd ,cable, stereoetc.
the bathroom was enormous and beautifully kitted out,the jacuzzi bath was a favourite.
The view from the window is straight onto the park ,lovely.
We had dinner in the Bistro and it was an absolute treat to eat food made by someone who obviously loves cooking to perfection, that was one of my all time meals ,excellent.
The hotel staff were friendly and it all made for a great relaxing stay. Many thanks.

“Distinctly Average Hotel”

Parklands

We arrived and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist,
and our bedroom was large with a spacious ensuite. However, the `double' bed was 2 singles pushed together and was an extremely uncomfortable bed with poor quality pillows, non existent fillings!

We were both looking forward to our Scottish breakfast on the first morning, however, it was non inspiring. Fruit selection consisted of a fresh fruit bowl, however, there were also frozen berries that were half defrosted and a big bowl of olives! On ordering bacon and eggs (which took quite a long time to come, although there was only us and another couple in the restaurant) when it arrived the bacon was fatty and swimming in grease (it had been ordered crispy), and the toast was poor quality bread which disintegrated when you bit into it.

Overall poor quality food. Safe to say we didn't bother with breakfast on our 2nd morning.

The main problem was on our 2nd evening there was a function on during the evening, and for about an hour and half from 11pm the noise which came from the floor below as people were leaving was incredible. Sleep was not possible.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly but for £125 per night and the lack of quality, we will not be staying there again.
