I found this site looking for something else and the decided to look up Parklands in Perth where I have been staying for the last 10 years on a fairly regular basis.
Over the last 10 years the hotel has been through 3 sets on owners and many changes, it has always had a good reputation both from guests and locals, but since the Edwards arrived the hotel has become the place to stay in Perth. I have stayed in many of the other hotels in and around Perth, either through being booked somewhere else by work or not being able to get into the Parklands and I can only say that my preferred option by far is this small and friendly hotel.
Although some rooms are small ( I always request a Superior room if available) they are well furnished and on my recent visit in February my room had just had a LCD flat screen TV installed. They have had Wifi for years which is free and as others say I find the DVD and CD in each room to be an advantage when you travel a lot. It is always very clean and personally, I have never had a problem apart from the odd light bulb going.
I have always found the food at breakfast to be of an excellent standard and there is always such choice available. Food has become their particular focus recent years and it has become a reason for many people to go and stay at the hotel, they have won awards for it on many occasions. If I entertain in Perth on business then I use either the hotel or 63 Tay street which they are involved with.
If you love good food and friendly staff who take time to look after you then this is the place to stay. You may need to forgive the odd thing such as squeaky floor boards and occasional road noise but I experienced that in plenty of other old town hotels.
I have recommend this hotel to many colleagues and they all enjoyed their stay . It is a firm favourite of mine.
